I think it would be neat if we could toggle vehicle repair on or off when recovering/resetting a vehicle. This way people who have been in minor accidents can keep driving with the damage level/appearance/gasoline level they are currently at, while still being able to backtrack to their previous location. Would be very useful for people trying to test/review cars, making movies, examining wrecks, etc.
yes that would be nice. you can already recover most cars by carefully pulling them but sometimes its just not possible without causing even more damage.
I think that if you press F7 it does that, but they may have removed that. Hope I'm being helpful, but if that doesn't work go into freecamera mode (Shift+c) and press F7 when you are close enough to the ground to not cause damage to the car (also may have been removed).
It still works as long as there are 2 vehicles (on my version). It just simply don't work with the vehicle that appears at spawn but works with other spawned vehicles
doing this would require a sort of "autosave" feature i guess you can call it that saves the damage data in a text file or something (i dont know too much about it obviously), but having that could cause the game to be even more intensive, which is the last thing this game needs. Perhaps a button that saves the damage data on command and then somehow implemets it onto the same vehicle with another press of a button? this is similar to a thread i just saw on "a rewind button" like in forza horizon 2, but on a more realistic scale
I disagree... all it would take is moving the current vehicle model to previous coordinates. The game already keeps track of your previous coordinates on the map (roughly) when you reset, all it needs to do now is "move" the car there without reloading/resetting it. I don't see why the damage would have to be "reimplemented" onto the model again. It would only have to do this if it was actually loading the model again (like it does currently when resetting), if it just moves the model without reloading it, it won't need to do this... probably. But I know nothing about coding or how the game works, so you might be right...
I second this. It works just fine. I use it all time but not for the reasons the op wants. I use to get to areas of the map faster or up to the top of a mountain instead of driving.
