Ripping along at 120 mph in the Bolide GTR (spoiler coming soon) through a dangerous corridor of trees on the East Coast map

440 horsepower, 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, and surprisingly drivable

I am just starting to get the hang of driving the current Bolide at speed.
    Those flared wheelarches look great.

There'll be another update too to the base Bolide with some improved tires and also a detuned (~200 hp) engine option (for those with less driving skill ;))

Wow, that road looks realistic as it is relatively smooth and the hills are like in real life: not huge bumps. Some muddy logging trails to crawl to come?

I softened the tire tread a bit and that seems to have mostly fixed the veering.

Didn't I mention doing something like this to the Bolide somewhere? I think I did. Anyways, wohoo! now the Bolide can actually have customization options like the rest of the vehicles! Also, will the spoiler be just fo' show or actually do something in terms of downforce? And nice to see this thread getting some use again. It was a great communication tool and you guys kinda just stopped using it when you made the initial release.

from my learning, most of these spoilers don't do anything to increase downforce, unless they are outside the airflow of the car. The small spoilers are there to reduce lift, which obviously helps keep the rear end attached to the ground at speed, but they rarely (if at all) ever provide down force.
to get down force you need a nice big aerofoil poking outside of the profile of the car, hence craziness like this

This is exactly what downforce is, assuming I'm reading this article correctly:

I believe they're actually there to control drag. They'll modify the airflow as it wraps around the rear of the car. Look at one of the Racecar Engineering magazine articles a few months ago regarding vortices. Using CFD they were able to show that a small NASCAR style spoiler reduces drag significantly. I think they serve the same purpose as the spoiler, modifying the airflow coming off the sides of the car to reduce the amount of 'dirty' air in the car's wake.

Did i see somewhere that you (the devs) are planning to make softer passenger cells. It just feels like all the cars already have rollcages.
