I really want to start modding, but I have no idea where to start. What software do I need, I know I need Blender, but what else? Can anyone direct me to a tutorial or something?

The wiki is probably the best place to start. I suggest trying the simple performance modifications tutorial, that is what got me started with modding. What type of modding do you want to do? Skins, vehicles mods, maps or scenarios?

Good luck with making vehicles. Even the best modders can struggle to make vehicles. Maps on the other hand is quite easy especially if you are only going to make maps that use beamng content. There are plenty of map making tutorials on youtube and several on these forum for you to learn from.

Thanks, and yes, modding does seem very hard, but I guess it's worth a try. Anyways, thanks for the help! :D

You can try to search for jbeam tutorials (just type 'jbeam tutorial' into a search engine).

    Modding tutorial on YouTube:
    Software to use (example video):

For more help you could pay a visit to the modding section of the wiki: http://wiki.beamng.com/Portal

Blender, gimp and notepad++ are the only programs I use for modding :) It takes some time to make a jbeam with a text editor only so I strongly suggest you learn to use nodebeam editor. And do read the wiki, I regret not reading it sooner. It could have saved me hours of figuring stuff out on my own.

Skins and some additional parts like engines are a nice way to start. Happy modding :)
