    It is me again!
I made a custom bumper jbeam with as 'special' things adjustable node height and drag and lift cf's, but when I hit the water with that bumper at a speed higher than very low, the game freezes and gives a instability error.
Can anyone help me with it?
I only have the issues with that bumper, no other mods and on multiple PC's.
Specs of the pc's if that would matter:
HP gaming notebook with a i7-6700hq, 4gb 950m, 8gb ram and SSD with beam on it.
Acer desktop thing from my brother: i5, 4 cores 3.2 ghz, GTX 6~~, 8gb ram.
It happens on all maps, including modded ones. When I remove or damage the bumper it won't happen.

I've heard that it is common to get vehicle instabilities when hitting water with high drag/liftcoef values, not sure if there is a fix.

I tried driving into the water with the Fr16. Needless to say, even if you just dip the front bumper in, it doesnt take it well.
Its a problem with the physics engine but cars that are running high downforce shouldn't be anywhere near water anyways.

it is a rally car, so you may want to drive trough puddles of mud at insane speeds :p

Why is the physics instability even in place anyway?

    Thanks everyone for the reports.

Air drag/damping is something that we are constantly trying to improve. It is a hard problem especially with large drag coefficients and when you go from air->water (as drag instantly raises by 3 orders of magnitude). The transition is like hitting something with a huge hammer. You can easily feel that if you dive in water (from some height) and you fall on your belly.

In any case, we'll check the Fr16 case to see if we can stabilize the core some more.
