Well, it was OFF TOPIC, and just because you don't care doesn't mean that nobody else doesn't care.

People on this forum are really immature sometimes :p

lol I'd never buy a GPU with the stock cooler... In the reviews it was hitting 90+ ºC under load, that means you can't even overclock it or it will melt, plus all the noise and heat...

Not to mention that this 500€ card looks cheap and ugly as hell. It's going to look absoluetly crap if you have a sidepanel.

I dont think it is ugly, and i would like BF4 included too. Better to have 94C pushed out of the case than inside of the case with AIB coolers

All dis hate. Just be happy for the guy, ffs.

Good buy, good choice. If I had one, I'd tear off whatever aftermarket cooler came with it and staple a stock cooler to it just to spite the people above.

ahaha, it's not hate, just some advice from experience in my case. I had a HD 5850 stock cooler and it reached 85 ºC easily, while my HD 7950 with dual fan stays at 60ºC even with a slight OC. I still remember all that noise and heat in the summer... haha, not gonna happen again to me.

The 290x will overclock its self (think gpu boost 2.0 ) as long as it remains under 95*c . But there is a bios flip switch on the card which allows you to switch between turbo and quiet mode. Whether quiet makes it run hotter or cooler though i am unsure of. But i would have suggested you go with a factory overclocked model as they usually run cooler and faster. But its not like the 290x is a bad card without that anyway. But the new 780ti looks like it should be sweet if the rumours are correct.

The card is not crap, but the cooler is. I don't know why people can't wait to buy the card from sapphire or any other like them to have a custom cooler that can cool it properly. 94ºC Under load? REALLY?

To be honest you could have picked any card on the market. scrap that any product on the market and we would all be hear to criticize your choice. Its a good card, better than most of ours in fairness. It will run anything at high settings and play games at 4k like a champ if you want it too. Everyone runs a different algorithm when it comes to deciding what card is best for us, you are better of with a card you are happy with than one we like :p

The reason why "we" can't wait is because if rumors are right, custom cards won't come until december q1 2014.

    BF4.... Nuff said

Well, looking at the power consumption under load, 440w(!), you can see how it hits 90 odd degrees. Stock cooler or liquid nitrogen, either way, you're gonna have a bad... housefire.

When you overclock that and the 780/titan then you will see the same wattage consumption.

I'm happy with my 2 evga gtx 550ti's. There both overclocked with stock coolers. While playing beamng, the max temp I get out of them is 60-70 deg.
