Lets take a look at the negative reviews for BeamNG.drive

    I don't even understand why people put so much negative reviews.Those are 9 year old kids that play GTA 5 and don't even know about Beamng.But there is one such thing that people don't understand:
    1.Making car in beamNg takes more time than making car in GTA 5. Because GTA 5 is arcade game but beamng is realistic crash simulator.Gta devs make those cars in a week but beamng devs make one car in 2-3 months. And about graphics, this game has such a beautiful graphics. But best thing is beamng devs are the best because they listen community.

    (Those kids are less IQ people that still don't know how to use computer)

    Both Forza and GTA are *very* arcadey when it comes to physics in any way whatsoever. Forza may be a "simulator" but in no way is it actually a simulator. Can i please have my 5 g's now? I really need a coat

    Well, most of the reviews are made by people who don't know what outdated means. Hence, AR162b's mods. Also, the other kinds are the people who reasonably know that the mod is a bad mod, and give clear evidence but the 10 year old mod author says, "I am making it better," or "This is my first mod, jeez." And the final ones are the kids who just complain about the little things like this one review in the Chinese Grand Marshal police and @Instant Winrar's scenario.

    It's my fault for including my average laptimes + 1 second in them, anyways. Everyone thinks it's the goal. I should really get around to fixing them up to my standards, again.

    No. You're argument was "Forza is arcade, hurdur." Not any indication of how that actually works.
    Just out of curiosity, whens the last time you played Forza?

    Few days ago, forza horizon 2. Somehow that games physics are even less realistic than significantly older forza games. Want to play forza with all the driver aides off? Impossible. Even with all of them manually turned off, there is still esc and stability control working for you that you cant turn off. Go over a jump? Dont worry, your suspension will soak up all that energy and send it into oblivion instead of into your car...useful. Nothing about the way the vehicles in forza move or handle or simply work is realistic in any way. Your car is a block. Pretty games though

    Comparing Forza to GTA is a bit extreme though don't you think? Comparing Forza to GTA is like comparing iRacing to Forza. They may have some similarites but they're leagues apart

    Also the Forza Horizon games are a lot more arcadey than the main series games since it's less about racing and more about "driving the dream, anywhere" a la Test Drive Unlimited except with better physics. The main series Forzas, while not on the level of iRacing, Asseto Corsa, etc etc are some of the more realistic racing games out there.

    Finally, there's no magic ESC and TCS to keep your car in check, that's just how the physics engine was built. It's far easier to tune vehicle physics to be forgiving and fun than to tune them to be realistic and then create systems to make it easier afterwards

    So you admit that the physics in forza are botched. tuned to be forgiving=nonrealistic.
    And forza is DEFINITELY not a simulator.

    Whether or not a racing game is a sim is not a binary thing. It's more of a scale. If you just divide it into "arcade" and "sim" then you're putting games like Forza and Gran Turismo with games like Burnout and Split/Second even though they're nothing alike. You're also putting iRacing, BeamNG and Project Cars into the same category which, again, isn't really correct.

    And please explain to me how I admitted Forza's physics are "botched." Being unrealistic isn't an inherently bad thing. If every game were a die-hard sim then gaming would be boring. Also I missed the part where I said Forza is a sim, you'll have to point that out to me

    forza is not a simulator. nor is it an arcade game. its a realistic racing game, that is easy enough to learn that the average player can do good at it, and it can be fun.


    OT: "Garage mode is overly complicated and bad now. dont fix it if its not broken. will change this review if its fixed."

    I have read complaints about cars being weak and not being able to climb even a small hill.

    What I have found out is that hills on mod maps can be steeper than 20 degrees, that is more than hill grade of 36% while usually hills on roads are 8% or less.

    So while such complaints bark at a wrong tree, those complaints are not completely off.

    Steeper hills of course create more interesting game play and more enjoyable crashes, but it of course is bit unrealistic.

    Yeah, not sure how you think Horizon 2's EXTREMELY generalized physics system is even close to the main Motorsport series. If you want to go that route, GTA is more of a sim than Forza because after a long drop the car spontaneously combusts whereas Forza does not. GTA also has an amount of premade damage modeling.

    A friend of mine came over to my house yesterday....He played BeamNG and be like:
    -Why the F*CK can't i steer at 56 mph
    -Why can't the Stage 4 Super Charged V8 (Barstow drag, remember?) can't be used with steelies
    -Why car crumple like paper
    -This game is shit....
    I really wanted to punch in his face but i didn't....i'm relived about the fact that he don't have steam to write a negative review either :p

    Probably not the "type" of racing game he was expecting. What irritates me is when my brother says he wants a game with realistic crashes, let him play, then he says it blows because he can't kill people. And without killing people there's no point.
    In his defense, he used to huff gasoline as a kid.

    I belive there was a negative review on steam which said "dosent have multi-player"
    I don't understand some people.. Only because the game isn't ready for mp yet, dosent mean that it is crap. Well some people do

    I sometimes wonder wether half the reviewers actually own the game or just watch youtube and then rate it on the small 720p image on their screen and 10 minutes of poorly edited gameplay...
