Finally finished the wiring on the sled deck. The old stuff was junk and the sidelights weren't very visible to oncoming traffic which is kind of important with how far this thing sticks out. (Sorry for the grainy pics)

I also found a cool light on amazon that acts as an ID bar and as turn signals/brakes. I put it on the headache rack and I think it came out looking pretty good.

I replaced my power steering rack to address steering slop. Night and day, makes me wish I still had sporty suspension on it. The job was a real bitch, but at least I managed to get it almost perfectly aligned. Tracks pretty straight but I'm sure the alignment readout will prove otherwise. I'm also going to take a moment to brag about 2 recent kills I probably shouldnt have gotten. Volester turbo, and today my friends z71 truck with whatever thumping v8 from 60 to 100. If he wasn't limited to 100 he'd have came back and got me tho. We had fun.

This is from a couple months back.

Went for an extreme drive in my MX5 through some rural twisties with BRZ girl, and came into a corner waaaay too hot. Fortunately was left foot braking at the time and could control my line with the car "reasonably settled". As usual, loading up the front wheels of an MX5 at high speed is an awful idea; the rear tried overtaking the front so I countered with full lock while sideways at something like 130km/h (80.7mph). Saved it but hit one of those flimsy reflector posts on the outer bound of the road.

Flimsy or not, hitting anything at that speed will do some damage.

"That's how you know you had a good time!"

    Smug bitch.

Constantly slithering my car into things and having access to a panel shop has its perks, as I can do whatever I like after closing time as long as I give the boss some alcohol (Australia in a nutshell, no joke), which also means I get to practise my panelbeating, which is a hobby of sorts... By necessity. The pimple-like things are from a dent puller which I used completely wrong several months ago from my botched guardrail repair, blowing several tiny holes in my quarter panel. Shaved the paint off further to find myself on an archaeological expedition through the layers of time (and shit repairs).

    "There, I fixed it"

    As it currently stands:

The quarter needs some finessing to get it nice and smooth before I give it a lick of paint. Next job is welding and filling the right hand quarter as there's a nasty rust hole forming.

She'll be finished this year. I'm installing NB8B brakes this week with braided lines and an NB8A proportioning valve for more rear bias (trust me on this), coilovers are on the cards in the coming months. Someone somewhere might've said something about a BP4W swap with a GT2860 hanging off the side...

Parked it in its native habitat of somewhere that's not tarmac. Dad the whole time "it is still just a car not some monster truck", me "it's just a grassy verge".

This was a nice post to see. The work you did on the quarter is great by my standards. What coil overs are you thinking about, and what spring rates? The gt28rs is absolutely the turbo to put on that motor. I don't know what the stock motor will put up with, but 280whp should be easily doable on that turbo, and you'll spool fast as hell too. I tried talking my friend out of a precision 6262 telling him he'd be useless on "B" roads, but he really just wanted a cruise missile capable of eating aventadors for lunch on the interstate, and I wasn't going to not build that with someone else's money so...
If I wasn't 6 and a half feet tall id have a miata too no question about it.

@amarks240, friend of mine is 6'7 and only needed a bucket seat and custom rails to fit comfortably in his MX5. Lots of 'tall people mod' support out there. I'm 6' and the only real issues are that I can't really see the top of the speedo, had to change to a smaller diameter wheel to stop my knees bumping into it, and had to adjust clutch pedal free play so my leg wasn't contorted with my foot resting at the top. Miatas are dirt cheap in the states... Look into it ;)

Coilovers will be Yellowspeed Dynamic Pro Sports, which are 8kg/6kg (450lb/340lb) for street and occasional track use. Should stop my diving and front overloading issue dead in its tracks.

I've been told 2860s are off N1 R32 GTRs which means it, as you said, should spool up quickly and give good power since it's a turbo from a twin setup. Not sure what the 1.6 is capable of, but whatever it is, a BP4W will put up with more thanks to its better flowing head and stronger internals (factory forged crank!). I'll be running wastegate which is about 8psi. I'm not chasing numbers so I'm not interested in dyno or anything.

All I know is that it'll be quick :)

Looked like a right twat in the work carpark.

Immobiliser on the wrx is external to main ECU and has a separate fob from the main key.

I forgot to hit the immobiliser disarm button before starting the car. Cars reaction: lock the doors and activate alarm. I didn't know how to disarm it again either

IMG_20170207_165413.jpg at least it will be there when I'm back

Well I was GOING to fix the Head gaskets but then we got another 3 inches of snow, and I don't have a real garage to work in.

    Weight reduction.

Tore the bed out of the '55 because it was rotten out. Chopped all the bolt heads off because I didn't really what to deal with the rusted carriage bolts. Replacing with more plywood mainly because of the price difference between oak flooring strips and it.

My neighbor just brought this little trucklet home. Not sure what year it is, but It is a Kia with a 800CC 3 cylinder.

Plans on using it to replace his old Kawasaki Mule for running around his property on, I say it's an upgrade, as this is fully enclosed and has heat, AC, and a radio.

It is adorable. Probably fits in the bed of something like an f350 lol. My parents own a John deer gator 6x4 and that was our little lawn tool/toy when they had 15 acres in ct. I had a 6hp go cart that I almost never touched again after the gator showed up. As for the little Kia truck, I'd Hayabusa swap it, but it's too cute to molest. Actually nothing on 4 wheels is.

Snow? This count? We have another 12-18" coming today into tomorrow. Excuse the blur. It was 6 degrees with 30mph winds.
