Smooth power delivery and great sound. Although these things aren't really necessary in an offroad vehicle.

Eh...the ENTIRE POINT of the 4X4 is to have a rough engine and rabid sound.

depends on what you're using it for. Crawling and other precise techniques need smooth throttle movements to maintain traction and control.
Rough power delivery can be dangerous as well. Old Turbo Porsche's were known as widowmakers due to the turbo kicking in when accelerating mid-corner which caused the car to lose traction and often times go off the road

Fiat/Chrysler did not exist back then, it was simply Fiat and Chrysler, two completely different brands. Also, the 5 cylinder is a car engine, not tough or reliable.

The two most prominent 5-cylinder engines were made by Mercedes and Volvo. "Weak" and "unreliable" are not adjectives I would use to describe them. "Powerful" admittedly isn't one either, but Jeeps traditionally haven't been very powerful either (sub-200hp), compared to pickups and whatnot.

Don't forget about Audi with their Sport Quatro! and that one was actually powerful!

If it helps any, the Hopper is equipped with a CHMSL or "Chimsil" (Centre High Mount Stop Lamp). If the Hopper was sold in the U.S./Canadian market, the CHMSL would have been required by law as early as 1986.

I'm not entirely certain, but it appears that a CHMSL was not mandated by Japanese regulations until the 1998 version of the UN World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations was fully applied.

Given that this UN forum was established as early as 1952, (with the initial agreement occurring in 1958) it may have implications for every vehicle currently in-game. Given that the 1958 agreement covers everything from the arrangement of foot pedals to the permissible amount of road noise emitted by tires, it may provide a useful guide for vehicle development.

If you feel like wading through the agreement itself, I belive that an English/French/Russian copy can be found here.

This thing looks so cool, can't wait to customize it with 17x9 trails wheels and a lift kit. Great work :)

Well engines like the OM605 are pretty great, however, he said the fiat 5 cylinder which I would not consider powerful or reliable in any sense of either word.

It's not the power you want to look at, it's the torque.

This is a W.I.P Stock vehicle, not a mod. Please do not ask Modders/Devs for release dates. W.I.P Threads are for actual discussion and not What You think it looks like etc,

As the Hopper has been confirmed as a part of the next update, but there are no new official photos yet, I thought it might be fun to see what sort of skins the community is anticipating. If nothing else, it may be a good brainstorming session for future mods.

Here is a simplified blank drawing of the Hopper to get the skin making started:

Alright; as promised, here are a few images of skins that may possibly find their way onto the Hopper. These are all purely speculation on the possibilities for official skins, and I'm certain that the community will produce many others within a few weeks of the update.

Body-Coloured Fenders seem likely for higher-end models:
    IbishuHopperDeluxe.png

Special Editions may feature some form of side graphics. Hopefully, these will be two-tone:

Depending on when exactly the Hopper was produced, graphics may be rather flamboyant, as was the case with many cars of the era. Today, these designs are mainly relegated to soda cups:
    IbishuHopperSlashes.png

On the performance and custom Fronts, we could very well see a rally skin to match either the '88 Pessima or the Covet, (again, depending on when exactly the Hopper was produced.) This could either be a competition vehicle, or merely support.

The Camo skin is very likely to carry over from the D-series/H-series:
    IbishuHopperCamo.png

Personally, I'm hoping for animal stripes:

Yes, I know that these are mostly horrible photoshop jobs, but I wanted to get as many concepts out there so we can get some discussion going on skinning the Hopper.

    This I like.

Don't forget a rusty primer-black skin for a custom version (because who's going to blow money on paint & bodywork for a serious 4x4?)
