Current issues for me: 1. AI and randomization fails to reload when R is pressed. 2. The Orbit camera seems to track the center of the car's bounding box. If a part is broken off, the camera will move to the position between the car and the broken part. 3. Something doesn't seem quite the same about the AI...maybe it's because of the update that made reverse shifts unbelivably slow. If these are ever fixed, here are some suggestions: 1. AI should be more likely to attack with the rear end to prevent radiator/engine damage. 2. Some sort of system to auto-separate cars that get stuck together (I currently have to use node drag tool to do this, which often damages the cars). 3. Prevent vehicles without engines (such as trailers) from loading, if it doesn't already 4. Remove the objects far away from derby area, to reduce lag 5. Maybe an option to set all cars to AI, and spectate without participating?
These are great ideas, I agree on all of them. And devs could propably find a way to fix the issue of sticking parts with this: ''2. Some sort of system to auto-separate cars that get stuck together (I currently have to use node drag tool to do this, which often damages the cars).'' This could work in a way, that the game would constantly look up some data and whenever it sees, that bumber is sticking to something, it releases it or weaken it, so that it will come loose completely. Same would go for the tyres, and doors, because there is way too much of frustration and it's a game breaking issue. This whole gamemode is the main reason why I'm interested about BeamNG. I've been looking forward, that if there comes the possiblity to open up server for online multiplayer for this gamemode, I will test it out and do occational hosting with my friend. We have been observing the game for a while now an hoping, that we someday might be able to do that.
Guys....if you want to do derby, you can't play this anymore. I think it's over for good. There is new Demolition derby mod is called Demolition Derby - The Fair Grounds. Thanks!
