I wouldn't have stanced it but my car used to be at least that low if not running any camber besides what you get just from being slammed on double wishbones. I eat stock Hondas and vdubs multiple times a week that are slammed with nothing under the hood.

So In my infinite wisdom, I decided to hop on CL and see what I find. On the very first page I find this 99 4wd 3/4 ton 24 valve Dodge, it's even in my town, I just called the guy and I'm going to look at it tomorrow.

    https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/6025964933.html

1999 4wd Ram 2500, 24 Valve Cummins, automatic. No rust on it and new tires, Though I've got a set of 35 inch Toyo's that would be going on it.

My only points of concern on it are that it has an automatic, though he has receipts showing a overbuilt-rebuild on it three years ago.
My second concern is the miles, the truck itself has 581,000 miles on it, the trans was rebuilt at 455K, and the engine had rods and mains done at 480K, it's not a massive issue, but it still got my attention nonetheless.

That's round trip to the moon. Venerable truck with plenty of pulling power no?

Third point of concern actually, the VP44 pump, they use diesel fuel to lubricate themselves as opposed to engine oil, and if they get less than 10 PSI going into them the tend to die.
And it's said they can't keep up with high power, but by high power, they mean in excess of 700 HP.

And power wise, I've never owned a 24 valve, but my 12 valve has plenty, around 350 HP / 750 TQ, and in reality that's pretty mild for what they are capable of.

Also with a 24 valve, you can push a few buttons and get another 110 HP.
And they tend to get better mileage, sometimes pushing 30 MPG.

Get a high quality aftermarket lift pump (I have a FASS, but other brands work just as well) and I doubt you will ever have a problem with the VP44.

A FASS pump is actually the first thing I thought of when I found the truck.

Well, I went and looked at the Blue Dodge today.

It drives good, pulls great, even the automatic shifts good, but the interior is really rough, and there are alot of little things that don't work quite right, which for 600,000 miles, kind of makes sense, and I still definitely like the truck, but I just can't see myself giving $7500 for it.

Your red truck is a 2wd 3500 with a 5 speed isn't it? It says he's looking for a trade, unless you still want to keep your red one too.

Yes, and I mentioned it, but he said that he wasn't interested in a 12 valve, Besides, I've had offers as high as $5500 for it, and I always said no, I don't think I could ever actually get rid of it.

My mom fairly recently got a used X5 as an AWD daily driver and a substitute for our FJ80 that has seen better days. While trying to figure out where to refill the DEF (for some reason there are two separate tanks, I hate emissions crap) I ran across these videos.

My parents think it's obnoxious and ridiculous, I think it is kind of BA. What do you guys think?

You know exactly what to do with the DEF, get rid of that whole fire hazard of a system.

That's probably the best sounding 3.anything ever heard, besides the 4BT Cummins.

Also, I had no idea you could still get a diesel Beemer in the US, I hadn't seen one newer than the late 80's.

Yeah I didn't know they had a diesel either until my dad brought one home. It's actually pretty damn peppy too, the acceleration will surprise you. Great fuel milage as well.

The day has finally come. The Ranger is here.

    IMG_7845.jpg

98 HP with the stock 4-banger. No where near enough. On the highway coming home it flat out refused to go faster than 55 mph, apart from the time the throttle jammed wide open.

My dad and I plan of fixing the lack of power issue with a Paxton supercharged 302. I think that'll do the trick.

I mean, it'll probably go faster, I just didn't want to give it any throttle after it jammed open.

That's mildly terrifying in a vehicle that has literally no brakes at all.

I never said I was a smart man, and I had to get it home somehow. Being ticketed for going too slow is a thing in the U.S.

    It weighs about 2,900 pounds.
