Using BeamNG in college as a "tool" for work

First off, I must thank BeamNG for the game massively, since I can't afford to give them more money.

So I've been using it as a "tool" for working on a project, since it's absolutely perfect for our idea, a destruction derby game with zombies in it. The physics engine is exactly what we were looking for and I've been using it to take screenshots for our work.
I managed to create a logo/box art in Photoshop using a Drive screenshot and some splodges and text, and I think it looks pretty cool and I decided I'd like to share it with the community, as without this, I wouldn't be able to do such a thing.

Tell me what you think of it, taking into account it's just a prototype:

The "D" is like cut on the right side, also try to smoothen the background screenshot, I can see the pixels from a mile! :p Besides that it's very good.

What if I told you, that making a project like this is a little bit more difficult than pressing one key, loading the image in your cracked photoshop and putting a text over it.
You sould maybe start by learning basic stuff and importing objects into beamng before you begin a project that professionell developers would need months for.

We're not actually making anything, we're just using it for ideas for a presentation, using it for visual evidence of what we're "making", not actually going to make a real game from Drive. I just wanted to share what we're doing with it. I'm not going to post 20 screenshots of some smashed up cars you can easily just go into the game and see for yourself though.

While I'm far from a qualified expert, I've been spending the last couple years working toward a Graphic Design degree. One thing I've noticed is that there is this strong (but ultimately incorrect) temptation to show all or most of the contents of your product. The lasting battle with trying to say 'product' without showing 'product' is one of those things that defines the business of creating logos and managing brands.

Some of the best film posters, logos, and video game covers manage to get their point across without showing half the cast (full metal jacket's poster), an illustration of the product (Nike's logo), or actual gameplay screenshots (pretty much every game ever). My greatest suggestion is to go looking for a variety of video game covers to get a glimpse at what works for the AAA tier of the industry. In your case, try looking at box art for Burnout, Flatout, Left for Dead, Metro, etc., and localize if necessary. Your logo looks nice, but the background leaves much to be desired.

Though for a prototype presentation, it probably doesn't matter much.

I should probably clarify the fact this presentation is for college, as it says in the title, not a real business presentation for a real product.

I am pretty "chilled" ;) I personally just don't see the point of making a thread for a pic that took 5-10min of worktime.
That's like opening a thread in the vehicle section for a car were you just took someones mesh and placed it on the bolide NB without changing anything.

But enough "hate" for now. Maybe next time try to add some more stuff :) You just need to dl some random GFX Pack from youtube and it will very likely contain smoke, particles and flares wich you can than easely add. Also These Guys make very good tutorials for AE and PS.

@Edit: before I forget, changing FOV makes an image look better in 80% of the case, just open the console and type "setfov (Your Number)" Ex: setfov (20)

And just for comparison, this took me max. 30min. (Feel free to use it for your project)

    2_000000.jpeg 2_000001.jpeg 2_000002.jpeg

And this above me is really not that difficult to make, just a bunch of flares, overlays, half-life guy, and a text.
