Re: What does everone have under the hood? I have mowed my lawn for years, but I just started mowing other peoples lawns. I have gone at least ten houses to ask people to chip up leaves, and I have only gotten one job. ONE Charged the guy 20 bucks, and right after that, I went out and bought 17 bucks (five gallons) of gas, that is currently sitting down there under the deck. That's probably enough to mow 5 lawns, if anyone'll hire me. It's a good way to get my name out there for when the grass starts growing again in the spring, though. On the topic of maintenance, though. Nothing too serious has happened lately, but in mid september, that day we got the new tractor, the fuel pump on the old one went bad. Perfect timing. Bought a new one and put it on, runs like a beauty now. I'm just waitin for the hydro static to go, then I have a real problem.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? OKAY this has gone off topic so lets stop this off topic train here and lets get back ON TOPIC!
Re: What does everone have under the hood? It's not gone too off-topic. We are talking about what we have under the hood (kinda). But, in the spirit of good forumism, here are my specs: Intel core duo running at 2 GHz Nvidia GeForce GT 610 I'm not sure what my mother board is, and I don't care enough to dig around to find out. I did contribute to the thread, though.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? 780s require about 200w each, Titans around 230w. As I said before 4 gpus is useless unless only benchmarking. With 3 titans you'd only be pulling 705w plus lets say 140w for the cpu. 840w, 84% of the psu's total output. You would only get anywhere near full load if you were for example running furmark on all 3 gpus and Prime95 on your cpu. If you want to go ahead and waste money in the future be my guest. Btw I wouldn't exactly consider this offtopic seeing as it pertains to what could be 'under the hood'. My 2c.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? I know its over kill but I went utterly INSANE building it come on let your imagination run wild..
Re: What does everone have under the hood? I give up. Go ahead and waste thousands. Considering stripping the paint of my case to bare metal apart from the front and then putting some sort of protective coating on the metal to keep from rusting. Could look good, could look shit.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? it was a wild dream of mine you know how you get them...the impossible dream
Re: What does everone have under the hood? how well does that cpu run beamng? I have one, but my motherboard isn't here yet.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? It doesn't. The only way I have playable fps is to go on gridmap on medium settings with one car.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? CPU- AMD 8350 8 core GPU- Sapphire Radeon hd 7950 VaporX PSU- Rosewill 1000w RAM- Corsair Vengeance 8GB HDD- 1TB internal, 250GB internal, 1TB external. MONITORS- 3 LG Flatron 24" Keyboard- logitech G510 Mouse- Logitech G9x laser
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Yeah I kind of feared that. I think the clock speed might just be too slow. It could be better than my pentium D though.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Nah, seen madder. EVGA I think it is sell a twin CPU motherboard, you can also get twin AMD boards. Have seen quad AMD also but non server versions of windows dont support that.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Neat. I started earlier this summer when we got our new mower. I charge 15-20 bucks a lawn.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Ah well did my best for the most powerful Gaming PC I could...I guess I am no where near I could have said I would go out and buy a Cray 2 super computer then...
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Or you could use a UK seller you know My PC is entirely built from components source from UK sites. AMD Athlon II X3 @3.4ghz with stock cooler. 4gb (2x2gb) 1333MHz RAM, some corsair budget stuff I think. 750GB hard drive, forgotten manufacturer and model. Its 7200rpm is all I can remember An ancient seagate 80gb hard drive, over a decade old. But it is useful sometimes (just cause 2 multiplayer, screen recording bottlenecked content loading from the hard drive, set the record target to be on another drive, problem solved, my chrome downloads folder is also on that drive). EVGA GTX460, I forget exact model (I am great at remembering model numbers and stuff aren't I Desktop isnt powered on, I use dxdiag instead of speccy though). It is slightly overclocked from a reference design I think. 1gb GDDR5. Some budget AM3+ microATX motherboard from asus. Cost all of £40, was a new model when I got it 2 years ago yet still has a full RS232 port and LPT port. I think it has 6 USB ports from motherboard headers and then 4 on the rear, all USB2.0. Yet again forgotten the manufacturer and model but I have a 600W 80+ rated PSU of some description. Cheapo DVD read/writer. Probably lite-on or something. Don't know, don't care, it works. I don't use it often but when I do it does the job I need it to do so I can't complain. All thrown in a CIT Shade micro-atx case. Cheap, not a looker, but not offensive either, I've kinda grown attached to it. Has a rear exhaust fan, 90mm if I recall, not massive anyway, runs direct off of a molex connector so no speed control. I also salvaged a 120mm fan from the PSU which came with the machine (not trusting unmarked PSU's here), it had a JST connector on it of all things so I cut that off, soldered a molex connector onto it and bolted onto the side panel alongside the GPU. Otherwise I just have the GPU, CPU and PSU fans. The 120mm is damn noisy though. My rig is nothing special. But it runs all games I throw at it. Doesn't necessarily max them but it certainly isn't crippled by any. No games running with a single setting below medium (minus AA etc) at any rate. The RAM is being upgraded to an 8gb kit this winter, probably corsair vengeance if I have clearance (RAM, hard drives and CPU cooler are nearly having an orgy in there, GPU doesnt help maintenance in there either). Also going to look at getting a front fan, fan controller (possibly) and upgrade the cooler, then overclock a bit, probably replace the side fan with something speed controllable too, leave the rear as it is. - - - Updated - - - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z9PED8_WS/ 7 PCIe x16 lanes and twin LGA2011 sockets.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? Thing is with those boards you can only put Server parts in them. As in Xeons, they don't support the enthusiast 39XX/49XX parts.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? From what I recall of Xenons they are an entirely different BEAST compared to the i7 Extreme Edition they are something like double the power or greater...
