Well comparing the screenshots for both WCUSA and Italy, WCUSA looks pretty much complete, and the last screenshots were from Jan 31st.

We have only really seen pictures from the city - nothing really from the suburbs, highways, drag strip etc that are on the map. I doubt that WCUSA is that complete.

One of the first screenshots are from the highway, and some time ago there was a video of the race track in this, which may or may not have had the drag strip shown in it? Indeed I haven't seen anything about the suburbs though.

The drag strip to my knowledge has not been shown. The race track was in the Clean racing and driving thread but no drag strip.

Unless the devs post screens of WCUSA in a far more finished state, I doubt it will be in the next update...

I wonder if the game menus will have sound when you click on buttons in the update. I would like that. It helps when you have a lag spike and you can't tell whether you clicked the button or not. Sort of like the main menu.

i really hope they optimise the UI a bit more.. i feel like the vehicle selector/parts selector are very slow, it works much faster if physics is paused.... does anyone else feel this?

really? because for me its slow either ways.. mods or not... my PC is capable enough to handle 2 cars at 45 fps with medium-high graphics settings.... so i know its not my PC..... my way of dealing with it is to pause physics and use the UI... makes it faster..

This and lag spiking is because your CPU is running out of computing power, but it is not quite simple as that of course, there are several threads, physics thread, graphics thread etc.

If you run out of CPU core computing power on physics thread, everything else starts to wait for physics.

If you run out of CPU power in graphics thread, GPU has to wait for new information, you can see this when GPU utilization is less than normally.

So if UI speed improves when pausing physics, that means everything has been waiting for physics thread to compute and your CPU is not able to run BeamNG properly, this is often case with AMD FX CPU's, which perform quite poorly in BeamNG, something to do with kind of calculations needed and kind of calculations CPU is good at not being same kind of calculations.

When you have VSYNC enabled, CPU and GPU are resting if there is enough computing power to keep framerate at monitor's refresrate, that means UI will be fast as there is always extra power to do extra things, like opening vehicles menu which looks for many files, opens thumbnails based on files it finds and so on.

Now if your CPU's graphics or physics thread is at 100% load, when you go to vehicles menu, there is no extra computing power, so it places your request in queue and after CPU 'gets there' it will do the UI stuff, lag/delay comes from there.

For example, with i3-6100 and iGPU my menu was quite slow, but putting in 8800GTS 512 which was slower than iGPU menu was really fast, CPU power remained same, so what gives?
-As slower GPU makes CPU wait more, it allows CPU to have less of queue, which gives faster response to requests like list of cars.

Installing GTX 1050Ti to that same i3-6100 made menus to perform slowly again, because CPU was really pushed, GPU could easily render faster than CPU could feed it, i3 has only 4 threads and 2 cores, so it was easy to bring fps below vsync value, now if running without vsync things came to grinding halt, despite running higher fps, that was because of CPU got longer queue and was squeezed every bit of performance to just make game run at whatever fps it was possible to do.

Putting i7-6700 in made UI fast again, because it was able to feed the CPU, however sometimes UI was really slow, what gives you might ask.
-i7 and i3 are not much different in single core performance, shadows are using lots of CPU, same single thread as other graphics, CPU needs to do some processing for GPU and on some maps and some situations I still run out of computing power on that single thread, which makes UI slow again.

So, keep shadows off, keep dynamic reflections off and UI should be lot faster. avoid HIGH mesh detail, I'm not sure what other things this affect than just detail of the mesh, but it does increase CPU graphics thread usage, also it does increase GPU usage.

Some have reported playing full screen increases fps, it does not for me, but then again it might be some variable that is different in my system, I'm running Win8.

MSI Afterburner makes task manager to lie about CPU usage, at least when afterburner's OSD has CPU load displaying enabled, task manager can't show 100% load on CPU core then until CPU load is really really high, haven't checked if same happens on full screen or if same happens with other fps monitors, but I know for sure that with windowed mode and game's FPS counter enabled, when I have over 200fps that FPS counter increases graphics thread load by 20%, which runs on single thread, I guess that is less at lower FPS, but if you are running out of CPU power, tuning game for performance means no any kind of FPS display, that is going to be more than 1% performance increase and they do add up.

One thing I'm not exactly sure if all UI is running on that same graphics thread or if UI update is running on separate thread, I haven't checked that yet, but certainly how loaded core that runs that thread seems to have effect on how UI runs.

If putting automatic transmission to 3 (modded transmission with RND54321) UI runs at 1fps, because 3 is not supposed to happen so BeamNG don't know what to do, surprisingly nothing crashes though, but if one has some UI mods or other mods installed, that does something that is not considered possible, it can also make UI run really slow, but with 2 cars at 45fps I would say it is the CPU.

LjF updated his Italy map, just correcting a few small details and adding the roundabouts:

Very curious as to what is coming in this update. The past few weeks have only been about Italy, so it leads me to believe they are working on something big that isn't easy to show off, or they are doing a lot of really small things.

So to recap, the Hopper will be in the update, WCUSA is possible but we really haven't seen an update on it in a bit, and Italy is for sure not coming in the next update. Also the updated ESC or ABS probably. Is there anything else I'm missing we know about?

Yeah I just remembered, I think it was new ESC too Im not sure. I remember they showed off the ABS features and they kinda work together in ways so it might be a bit of both
