*rant warning* Another questionable idea from a man with questionable sanity. I was playing BeamNG on my leather couch yesterday, with a bourbon glass of Costco filtered water, my Sony headphones, and my beloved $80 dollar steering wheel, and I noticed something that truly upset me; I had been tooling around on the Port map with a barstow, and every time I hit a pile of rubble, it would either grab the wheels or just blow the tire, and I thought to myself, "if I drove a car through that, I would have picked up a nail or something sharp for sure." *takes sip of Costco water from bourbon glass* is there any way to implement slow leaks in the tires of cars in beamng, it's been on my mind ever since Morgan picked up a nail in the tire of his Solara, the tire was flat the next morning. in the game, if you nail a sharp edge on your knobbies, maybe the psi could decrease slowly... any suggestions? greatly appreciated. Cheers!
i dont think this is possible since adjusting the psi in the tires would equal changing the jbeam - something that can not be done on the fly as far as i know. dont quote me on that though.
i dont know exactly how the pressure tires work. i thought if changing the tire pressure in the config menu reloads the car then there must have been a change in the jbeam. and ive seen the devolpers repeatedly say that a jbeam cannot be changed on the fly. i might remember that wrong though - if the game doesnt reload the car when you change the tire pressure then what you proposed should be possible.
Yes this is probably possible in some way, but remember, this game is still in quite an early stage and there's a lot of more important stuff to right now so you shouldn't expect little complex things like this in the near updates.
The current tire deflation thing is pretty black and white: it relies on whether the container is broken or not. If the container is broken it can't hold pressure anymore. The skeleton, or jbeam, of these cars and tires is very low-detail. If you haven't seen it before try pressing CTRL+B while in-game. Ideally press CTRL+B several times until the game says the visualization is "with broken". Drive around like that and watch a tire break. I think if you do that you'll see that there's really no room in the current system for a "tiny hole" type of thing. Either the container/volume is enclosed or it has a gaping gash in it. I'd definitely like to see your suggestion become reality, it would be neat.
