Can't install mods

Whenever I attempt to search for a mod, I get an error claiming that I "do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." I purchased this game on steam and I linked my account on this forum. What's causing this problem?

To be more specific, I'm trying to download this mod: https://www.beamng.com/resources/giant-sledgehammer.9/historyImproved

When I search "sledgehammer" to try to find the mod, I get an error saying, "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."

So, I google search "beamng sledgehammer". I get the URL mentioned earlier. It shows up, but when I click download, I get the aforementioned error message again. Clicking install asks me to run BeamNG.drive, but otherwise does nothing.

 

Because it's a very old and outdated mod. Moderation of the repro cut the access sometimes to too old mods, so they don't cause any trouble with newer game versions.
Have you try with other mods?

 

I've tried with a few others. Many work, but many also don't. The mod isn't marked as outdated, though, so how does that make sense?

Edit: Furthermore, the mod was last updated August 16th, 2016. I certainly wouldn't call that "very old". Other mods of a similar age, such as Blue Bird Bus, are of a similar age, yet they give no error.

 

I have been searching around the whole internet to find why that is because i really want the BELAZ mod!!

 

If the mod isn't going to work in the game, it won't work, that's all there is to it. There are many mods that I have wanted, but sometimes you just can't get them, I hate to say it. The only thing you could do is PM the author and request that they update the mod and release it, and practically beg, or offer to help, or you would just have to try to replicate the mod yourself. Obviously you wouldn't be able to post the mod on this site due to copyright, but at least then you would still have what you wanted.

And...if your bad at coding, or the author says no, your out of luck. Hope that this helped, and let me know how it comes out.
