In general I think @amarks240 posting history can be cited as the reason But to summarise its probably because they don't want 18yo's renting cars and then absolutely thrashing them with little experience behind the wheel (think how badly many "boy racers" hoon their own cars, now imagine how they would drive others). Why they needed to make a law out of it I have no idea, I would have assumed that the market would adjust, since when I looked rental companies charge more for under 25's anyway since they are higher risk. So surely they would have just charged even more to cover the risk, or the individual companies would have put age restrictions in place. Presumably they only charge more because the insurers demand that, since if a car gets crashed its probably gonna be covered by someone other than the leaser?
Makes a lot of sense. I mean if I was going over seas for longer than a week I would most likely buy a dirt cheap beater and a basic toolkit anyway.
Due to legal reasons I am not allowed to comment on rental car abuse. And now for something completely different. What ever happened to KFC? They used to be everywhere about 10 years ago, now you can barely find one in a 50 mile radius.
I have one down the road from me, annoyingly though I went to one on the other side of the city the other day & it was better than the one near me. Bastards.
I haven't been to one in about 10 years, though I do remember the one I had locally being better than the one south of me. So that can only mean that each franchise gets it's own special version of the "secret spices" or whatever. Or they just wing it.
Right?! I only have one within 100+ miles. They keep getting shut down around me. I used to have a routine; every other Friday(payday), I'd spoil myself with a chicken bowl and a goddamn chocolate chip cookie. But, noooo the "ethnic" town I call home can't keep a fast food joint clean, so now I spoil myself with hot pockets.
For me, KFC #1 Hungry Jacks & Red Rooster tied for #2 (For anyone not Aussie, Hungry Jacks is kinda like Burger King. Red Rooster sells Roast dinner kinds of stuff, doesn't fit in with other fast food places lol)
Oh, if we're talking about just fast food places in general, my favorite would be Hardees, no question. I can't get past Burger King's urine flavored pickles and astronomical prices. McDonalds is sometimes tolerable, though their bread has made me throw up before. Arby's is too expensive, Taco Bell is great, but it makes me shit out a lung usually, Wendys is too far away, KFC apparently fell off the planet, Jack in the Box is good too, but again, I only know of two within a decent drive, I love Rallys, it would probably be my #2 but it's nearest franchise is about 20 miles away, Stake And Shake is just a lump of garlic, butter and salt, and I can't think of any others off hand. Coolname, tell me more about this Red Rooster, You've got me imagining going through a drive through and getting a whole roast chicken with peas and carrots. If so, that would be phucking amazing, and I want it here.
I can't name a single favorite fast food restaurant. I have to categorize it. If I'm looking for chicken it's Bojangles, no doubt. Also Chik-fil-a, but in a different kind of way. Cookout has really good burgers, fries, and shakes. Taco bell is good and cheap "mexican" and never upsets my bowels. In-n-out is super good but the closest one is like 800 miles away.
KFC is shit. Just shit. McDonald's, that's kinda my guilty pleasure, it's so bad but so good, and also very different from American McDonald's as here it was always cheaper for them to use real meats rather than pink paste mixed in chemical baths which is what an American McDonald's was made of. Burger king, good but expensive. We don't have much else for fast food besides subways and a British classic, the fish and chip shop
Pretty much the same here, I've never eat in a KFC, but as far as I know it's not particularly good. We have some "Pizza" fast food though, like Pizza hut or stuff like that. I don't thing eating at the McDonald of time/month is really that bad, for your heath, or for anything to be honest. Even if I'll rather spending a lbit more money on a proper restaurant. The other day I've eat at an "American" type of restaurant, the "Tommy's" or something like that with "American imported food". It was glorious, unlike the prices though, (20€ just for a burger)
In my local area of Adelaide, Australia. There is an absolute shit ton of fast food joints. I live around where it says Cudlee Creek and for a bit of scale, it is 35km from my house to Port Adelaide. I prefer most meals of Mcdonalds to Hungry Jacks but Mcdolands is usually a couple dollars more expensive.
Pizza hut is pretty good. The issue is that they cost the same as many of the "up market" italian resterants. Burger King is nice too but far too expensive. I just stick to local places because I can get a fairly laarge chips with cheese on for £1.50 with acfe style chips, or proper chip shop chips for £1.90 at anoher place. Way cheaper than the £5-£7 burger king costs.
I must admit I love getting a Medium fries, double cheese burger and McNuggets for McDonalds... Guilty pleasures make Eastham a piggy..
