My budget is around 100-200. It doesn't have to be a high end laptop, I have looking at the (Lenovo X220 12.5" Laptop - C Grade Intel Core i5 2nd Gen 2410M (2.30 GHz) 250 GB).. I want to know if any of these would be able to run counter strike or beamng at decent frames. I might have to disappoint you, but there's no way of getting a 200$ laptop to run BeamNG or CS at decent framerates.
My Lenovo g50-45 played games at 20-30 FPS on lowest settings, but it goes for 300. And I doubled the ram.
$100 USD is simply not a valid budget for this project. Consider investing $10-15 a nice charger for your phone (so you can game on your phone). Realistically laptops which are useful for anything start around $300 and a laptop which can run semi-modern games at the lowest settings (or a bit better) is going to be in the $500-700 range. Alternatively you could purchase a vintage laptop and play vintage games... but it doesn't sound like that's what you're asking about.

ebay dude. You might be able to score a first gen i7 for $200 if you're lucky. Not like it'll be any good for gaming, but it'll be something.

go used, almost all laptops now adays can't game, Intel imposes a silly 15w TDP limit so OEMs can be lazy with cooling. find one with a Core i series CPU and a Graphics Card of some sort
what you said is basically like asking "Can someone recommend me a cheap sports car that can carry at least 7 passengers comfortably? looking for something in the price range of $500-1000" You aren't really going to find any of either.
I don't care about the price really. As long as it doesn't break the bank. I just don't feel like dumping 400-500 on a laptop. I can get a graphics card for my pc around that price. 200-300, is around what I would prefer to spend on a laptop. I just want something that I can use for work, and to game on my free time while I'm away from home. But thanks for the help though guys. with that budget you will have better luck getting a computer at a yard sale. You really need to spend 700 for a ok laptop. I spent $1,300 on mine because I wanted some performance for my videos and I need to travel with it.
If they just would do modern laptops that thick, they could have any CPU on market and not just those stupid 15W fake CPUs, lot of room for cooling air flow
Laptops aren't for gaming even know how much they say they are. They are for going on facebook and playing minecraft and word docs. Not games.
When it comes to whether a 6-year-old B-grade refurbished laptop with 4GB of RAM and an integrated GPU will be sufficient for your unidentified "work" and "game" tasks... you may have to be your own guide. All joking aside, your post I quoted above smashes your own idea. Take a look at the figures you've thrown out. If a single part for your current PC is potentially worth $400-500, how can you expect to assemble an entire functioning mobile PC for approximately half of that? (And initially estimating only $100!) You seem to be a victim of hopefulness. The numbers just don't add up, even if we allow that you'd take a downgrade in performance as a tradeoff for mobility and low price. If your standards are quite low you can use almost anything. I don't think you can receive much more constructive advise until you give explicit and detailed information on what you expect your usage to be. What software you'd use, possibly what file sizes or workflows your "work" entails, how much you'd need to keep open at the same time... and of course what "games" you'd expect to play. By way of gaming examples for the refurb you mentioned above: A somewhat faster laptop cannot play these games smoothly - Nitronic Rush Super Meat Boy .. any Touhou Project game and almost any other schmup from the last decade. You might be able to run - Certain semi-modern games such as LUFTROUSERS. Many games with a release date significantly earlier than 2010 or so, see GOG for some classics. https://www.gog.com/ The older and less graphically intense the better. Certain console emulators. Note that the age of the console is not the only indicator for performance - certain consoles are easier to emulate or better emulated. Certain emulators for the same console are much faster than others due to various reasons. YMMV even for what seems like a sure bet. Of course all of this is assuming the elderly laptop does not die on you. If you have a budget of $300 to gamble then used/refurb may not be a terrible idea. If you have a budget of $300 to invest, such as for a machine you need to stay employed, then a new (ultra-low-performance) machine is probably better.
Lie, my Acer Aspire V Nitro has a Nvidia 960M, and it runs GREAT on beamng drive. 55+ fps on most maps. Around 100+ on matrix freeway. Got this laptop for $500 on ebay. That place is like a gold mine for used gaming laptops.

Only reason why I chose a low price is because I was hoping to find a broken, or a beat up laptop which I could fix up to get it working again. The games I would like to be able to play would be the older cs or half life and other older games. I would probably end up spending at least 400dollars in total, on one which is no problem for me. I just didn't want to end up spending 500+ on a new laptop that won't be able to run the things I want. I wouldn't be gaming too often on it, i probably wouldn't even be using the laptop everyday. Which is why I want to stay in the somewhat "cheap" side of things. But thanks for the help guys it's very appriciated!
