Re: What does everone have under the hood? Firstly, its Xeon not Xenon that is an element on the Periodic table. Secondly they are made for productivity tasks and server applications, absolutely horrible for gaming as they aren't designed that way.

Re: What does everone have under the hood? There is that Although current gen xeons are damn powerful, don't know about them being double an i7 but they are certainly beastly chips either way. Kinda no benefits for gaming though. Lower clock speeds than a core i[whatever] CPU, less overclocking options, games dont benefit for the phenomenal core counts possible either really. But hey, bragging rights. Although an ontopic answer to what do I have under my hood. A 1.0 litre twinport ecoflex with a whopping 65 horsepower, we're burning rubber here. Actually I totally don't know that the car is capable of hitting 100mph..... Its a shiny new engine, previous owner completely buggered up my car in one way or another, car had 55000 miles on it when I got it, engine was swapped when car hit 53000 according to logbook, I have no idea how you can trash an engine badly enough that it needs replacement by 53000 miles, but apparently you can. It had also had "more than a few" clutch replacements. Wheel trims were aftermarket and shattered so I dread to see the originals (and no doubt there were more aftermarket sets in between), all 4 wheels out of alignment somehow, both the front tyres had cracked sidewalls and rubber decay in the cracks (also seemed to leak, hardly surprising seeming as they are tubeless and the rubber is cracked), exhaust cracked (which did make the engine sound considerably less weedy ), paint scuffed, CD player wont load disks (sometimes wont eject them either, when it does they come out scratched), manual is missing (do have logbook though), wheelnut lock is missing, spare key is missing and to top it off the rubber on the actual key is completely worn through so I can see the switches behind (which is why I have a new casing on order). Considering it was advertised as being in perfect condition we have trading standards involved with the dealership, they are refusing to pay up for the exhaust, wheel re-alignment, tyre replacement, replace manual (was advertised as included) and replace wheelnut on the basis that my stepdad willingly signed the documents on purchase Car was terrible to drive before having the tyres changed and re-aligned. Shuddered at any speed above 40. Paint scuffs on drivers side are gone though, some douche reversed his car into mine, had to have car resprayed. But yes. Under my cars hood, I have a weedy little engine.

Before I had my GeForce 7600GS back when I had that P4 setup I keep mentioning I had a GeForce 5 series (Forget specific model) and the original fan broke or something so my dad had taped on a different fan but that broke too, so I did this: (imported from here) I remember playing Sims 3 on it back when it came out and I blew my birthday money on it..

(PC 4501) 640k RAM (Has expansion module) 2 3.5" floppy drives external 5.25" floppy drive with power and cable case Everything works except the battery and a section of the screen seems to be a bit lower contrast than the rest of it. (Still perfectly readable though) But, sadly, I lost the MS DOS floppy it came with. I may try to make a new one sometime. Once when I was 8 or so I was given an old laptop with like windows 98+ (Yes, Windows 98 Plus) which had the full version of Doom 95 on it. (I had played the demo version before) but, man, the full version was so much scarier. The flying flaming skulls terrified me.
Re: What does everone have under the hood? My first PC was windows 98 but I had the original quake and original GTA games on CD (still have GTA, no idea where quake went). I do have doom and doom 2. Actually I played through Inferno on Doom this afternoon For best results, GZDoom + Brutal Doom mod. GZDoom brings quite a few improvements to the doom engine, brutal doom is just hilarious. E3M9 (secret level), Pain, In, The, Ass.

I could quite easily beat that with a pc I have at work an old Toshiba from 1993 and it has the original OS on it and a 5400rpm disk in it all original I will try my best to get the info on it for you guys to drool over (200th just a little reminder for me guys nothing to worry about here)

Re: What does everone have under the hood? Nice DIY graphic cards that's mine (9800 GTX+) the original fan's bearing was too loud, so I took an old CPU-Cooler and put it on my GPU. Temperature (the fan isn't connected to the graphics onboard, it is plugged on the mainboard) Browsing, Office, etc.: ~40°C Playing BeamNG: ~60°C (stable) although the cooler isn't regulated by the graphics card.

Re: What does everone have under the hood? All of my PC specs are in my tag below. Otherwise, my 1998 Sunfire has a 2.2L 4 Cylinder SFI engine, that when new pushed out 140HP. It is a pretty quick engine.
