Hi! I'm GrimmR34PER, and I'm very new to the community. I've been experimenting with blender, using different techniques and making different projects like first-person reload animations for firearms. Lately I've been looking for a specific type of mod- a mod that introduces more Widebody customization for the default cars of BeamNG.drive. I currently play on 0.8.0.1 (if it makes any difference with my mods) and I am looking for ideas. I want to experiment with Liberty Walk kits and Rocket Bunny kits, and I also want to create one of the first Widebody Porsches on the BeamNG modlist. Thanks for joining me in my creation, I hope to see you in the end :)

If you are new to modding, definitely have a go at modifying vanilla cars. It's a lot easier than creating an entire car and will give you valuable experience. Obviously, once you know how to, have a go at creating the Porsche!

There is no "New Modder; Ideas" section, and this is where I am going to post updates on my vehicle, therefore this is the section it goes in.

I do not have a question nor something to pitch, this is a thread for my upcoming mod, not a statement about a program and/or the programming of different things, if I do, I will most definitely post it in that section, but this thread is not for that at the moment. Thanks though :)

To be more polite than Y4123, this would probably go under content creation rather than vehicles, because you don't have any progress made yet, which is supposed to be required for a post under vehicles.

For making a mod, I would recommend starting with smaller parts like bumpers or fenders that will have a better chance of being finished. There have been a lot of people who tried to make an entire vehicle but ended up leaving it incomplete because they ran into problems they didn't have the time or effort to solve.
Good luck with whatever you decide on making

I see, did not understand that you needed progress to actually post. If it helps, I've made a few sketches and a design already. Thanks for the tip on the modeling.

if you made some sketches, go ahead and post them. some progress to show is always a good thing.
As for the start of modding in beamng, the one idea you had with customization isnt bad. And you can never have enough variety, right? But creating a new car is a totally different story. This requires at least a few months of experience to not struggle at the start. I'd just start with the widebody idea.
looking forward to your first results :)

Thanks to everyone who supported me and my ideas- I think this project will come along great! My sketches will be listed in my next comment as they're not finished yet. Don't be surprised if they're bad, not only did I use a paint tool to make them, sketching with anything else normally makes it look bad.

Also, give this project some time. As I said before, I'm extremely new to the modding community, so I'm going to have lots of issues and faults in the process. I'm starting off small and finishing off big, I'm assuming this project will take awhile so stay with me here.

As I said, thanks lots for supporting me.

Hey guys. Bit of an update. Started on the models, still experimenting with JBeams. Although, the project has to go on hold for a little bit. I'm not sure how long. My grandmother, who lives in Ohio (I live in Kansas) has run into some health issues, but it's unknown what it is. She's gone to the hospital and we're going to visit her. Currently packing my bags. Will update the post on my laptop when I get there if I can. Thanks for the support everyone! Wish my gma some luck.
