You need to practice more, I've pulled a 700R4 in 20 minutes.

In one particular instance with 92 half ton Chevy a friend bought, we pulled the trans 3 times in one day, only to find out the TV cable was an aftermarket cheapo and wasn't long enough.

I do. I waste a lot of time when I'm working on something for the first time.

Progress is slow as hell on my car too. Today all I did was take off the driveshaft and fuck with the clutch cable. Hopefully I'll get it fixed within the next week or so.

went to a local street drag day.

13.5 sec, was a beam setup so as soon as you started moving it started timing. was only .2sec slower than the newest 335kw model of the same car.

It's good fun really, was a casual event. Pretty keen to see how much better I can go on a drag strip.

Its not a waste of time if your learning and drinking beer throughout. My other name for corona is swap fuel. Summer in a bottle.
Nice. I'm betting you do at least a 13.3 on a real strip.

    In other news....

Got my trans out. That sucked. Good thing it's light enough to lift by hand, otherwise it would've been way harder. Now I just gotta take off the clutch/flywheel, replace the RMS, maybe replace the clutch, clean everything up, rust treat and proof, fix ujoint, grease other ujoint, put in rear swaybar, maybe swap final gears but probably not, put the intake back together, boost leak test, etc...

The transmission in the Yukon is pretty much ready to come out. The only thing left before unbolting it from the engine and flex plate is the dipstick tube.
I ordered a sun shell yesterday, and I'm gonna be ordering a rebuild kit today, but first I need to look and see what type of filter I have. $180 seems like it'd get you a cheap shit rebuilt kit, but that's about where all of the decent quality kits seem to be. The only ones more expensive are the Super Mega Heavy Duty Stage 11 Extreme Race Towing Severe Service™ kits, which I don't need.

Ah, but don't you know the first rule of car culture? Enough power never is. You might not need the forged unobtanium stuff now, but someday you'll realize that the one thing that would really make that thing better is a supercharger, and then you won't have the trans for it.

"New" rear shocks and rear brake mainetance. I've droven past two weeks basically without rear brake. I couldn't get it lock even on loose gravel.

Fixed the spotlights, made sure the snorkel is water tight and breathers raised and serviced it.
Now it is ready for a road trip through Botswana next week. :D

I'd think so, we've got a pair 300 kw Cat portable generators at work, and one of those can provide enough power to keep everything operating as normal, AC and all, in 2 large buildings a guard shack, and one large shop. And I'm sure it's capable of more.

Never heard anyone use kilowatts to measure power from a combustion engine before though.

Unless maybe if it's a hybrid.

I have, I think it is a metric measurement, for countries that use Newton-meters for torque
