68-79 F-bodies were shit at handling, power and going straight only matter's on that, cornering it is the equivalent of racing in a mid 70's Continental to the Ebisu circuit, if you ever drove a 80's F-body, they feel better and handled better, even without upgrade's.
So buying tires for the Cavalier is the easiest thing in the world. Last night we turned the back tires into octagons, so we had to go get more. While I'm used to thinking about stuff like tread wear, rubber compounds, sidewall strength, tread siping vs solid lugs, load rating and whatnot, buying tires for this thing is super easy, the only two things to think about are "Are they vaguely round? And do they hold air" And you only pay like $20 for two of them, not $100 a piece. I'm not sure what the parking brake cable is made of, but it must be the strongest material known to man.
I saw this in a local car park the other day and immediately thought of @HadACoolName You certainly don't see many Holdens in Scotland!
It's a ute. Hard to believe you've never heard of them before (actually not that hard to believe, considering you think turbos are for fuel economy instead of performance)
Strange, several auto makers seemed to think that same thing in the mid to late 80's. I'm sure they were all confused as well. I had never heard the term "Ute" used to refer to a Ranchero/El Camino type vehicle until I heard it on Top Gear, prior to that ute was the casual term for things like Blazers / Broncos / Ramchargers and Jeeps and Scouts and Land Crusiers to some extent. Then in the 80's or early 90's it "evolved" into SUV. "Utes" in the modern sense didn't really have a title other than "cruck" (Car + Truck)
It's because it was painfully obvious. That's basically what the Holden Utes are. That was in reference to the last discussion in this thread. Yes, turbos have been used for better fuel economy, but they owe a lot of their automotive use to motorsports and sports cars. Ute has been the term that I've heard used to describe these.
Woah, that's awesome. Cant work out what model it is. Has both "SS" & "Thunder" (This generation ute never had a Thunder model) badging with SV6 wheels.
So the dodge demon releases today. In response Hennessy released "The Exorcist" a 1000hp/966lb-ft camaro. Ford might have a GT500 soon this is great.
I actually think that this is the last real one because the v8s are dying out slowly and whit electric cars on their way to take over im not sure were going to have a new one
I meant the classic horsepower wars with engine sound a car for me at least has to have sound ir it isnt a car for me. (I now im old fashioned with that but im not the biggest fan of electric cars)
