Don't worry mate , it's great as it is , no need for KERS or any extra features ( maybe except for DRS ) Just can't wait for release , I've got plenty of tracks prepared for tests
I think all KERS does is adds a number of horsepower to the car for a few seconds. It might be possible to make a LUA script that can increase the power output for a few seconds, but i'm not sure.
I've never coded anything substantial in beam, so don't take my word on this. Perhaps what can happen for this, since the devs said it is possible, you can have two "engines" in the jbeam; the mainEngine and the kersEngine (which is a bit more powerful). Then a a custom input binding could swap between the engines while a custom lua script can manage the timer (since KERS isn't permanent... I think) and/or positions for it to activate. Now, I don't know the specifics of the code, but I'm pretty sure that if you do manage to find someone fluent in lua, it could be rigged up.
The way it crashes is looking good! I think its better to have a slightly oversteery car than one that understeers, makes it more fun to drive too!
I'm so hyped for this. Some feedback on the questions though, some of them (specifically the ones about downforce) sound to me like you'd need to have driven it to aanswer the question accurately. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. But still, props to you for even having this, the fact that our opinions matter is really quite neat. Thanks!
im really hyped wit this proyect this is awesome really you are the best and so are those who got involved in this project !!! --- Post updated --- really, thanks
Hmm.. well the FR16 is one of the vehicles I've added 'Nitrous Oxide' support to... (unrealistic I know, but a heck of a lot fun ) I think it could eventually be tuned to simulate KERS.
