It's what us aussies use as another measurement for HP, same goes for Newton meters instead of ft-lbs. Even though many people including myself, would rather use horsepower instead as it makes your car sound like it has more power. Why would you say your car has 74 Kilowatts instead of 99 horsepower. Horsepower sounds more aggressive and less scientific.
I agree. Except I have a joke plugin for chrome, where it replaces horsepower with tons of horsemeat!
Trying to get my 1988 mustang 5.0 running, It turns over but doesn't run, I can spray some gas into the intake and get it to fire but it runs that gas off and then quits. I've narrowed it down to the injectors not pulsing to let fuel in. I've replaced the distributor chip that reads the signal to open the injectors with no luck. Next step is to replace the computer and see if that helps if that doesn't help then Ill replace the whole distributor. If that doesn't fix it then im lost as to what it could be lol.
Heard of people disconnecting injector wiring and sticking bulbs on to make sure they're firing. Your injectors are not fed from your distributor though so you can rule that out. Distributor is ignition only
The rails have 40lbs of pressure so thats good. The injectors aren't getting a ground to allow them to open, they're getting fed its just without a ground they cant open. Ive tested all the injectors one by one and they all work. Most people on mustang fourms are saying its ECM, I have it on the way so hopefully that helps --- Post updated --- when it rains it pours, sadly
Pull the injector harness, check ground continuity with a multimeter. Then pull ecm. Check ground continuity to ecm --- Post updated --- While you're at it, make sure all the chassis grounds are making good clean contact
pulled the window trim of my firebird and blew out all the crap behind it that was making the area around it rust, pulled the headlight bezels off pulled the hood off, the engine is gong to a local machine shop that my dad is friends with for an estimate for cleaning the cylinders on Thursday and we also met an olds guy that might has a complete rotating assembly at a swap meet on Sunday and see what he has/ wants for one and met a body guy that could give us a deal on bodywork so hopefully this wont sit half finished for the next 20 years like my dads car
Short story behind that joke. My friend dad got a 500 abarth and thought it was the baddest car around. He would talk poorly about Hondas, but he would never run us in his scary fiat. When he got It I asked him "tell me about the transmission, 5 speed"? He goes "it dosent have a transmission, it has a gear box, it's manual." we both looked at each other and immediately started laughing at him. Not the first person I've heard make that mistake either. Literally anything that transmits mechanical work is a transmission even if it's 2 gears on a shaft.
Yea, researched alldata and that was the answer. Bought one and I'm going to replace it this weekend. Those are called Noid Lights, you can prolly borrow them from an auto parts store.
Did some interior ricing. First door panel is a test of a bunch of certain glues to see which one will hold up the best so when i do them they last for a long time.
