cool, also, I found a really nice Pontiac 6000 wagon on craigslist about 3 hours from me, but I don't have 4000 to spend and probably wont for a long time, either way it seems to be a beautiful and rare example of the 6000 Safari, and it even has wood panels, im drooling https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/cto/6041371959.html
Beta 1.4 has been released! changelog: -added Soliad badging to all existing hubcaps and created a new skin for the dog dish hubcap -added the Soliad base gauge cluster -added the Soliad logo to both steering wheels (as opposed to "4000") -Slightly squared off both the front and rear bumpers to create more diffrences between the 4000 and legran body styles Configs are now named with Soliad 4000 trim names and spawn the vehicles with Soliad hubcaps/rims(Base, DX, LE, SE, STE as opposed to Base, S, SE, Luxe, Sport) coming soon to 1.5 -rear spoiler -custom thumbnails for all trim levels -badgework on the front grille and rear panel (with help) to "Car Crusher": that "chrome" you speak of is the trunk lettering. Ive been trying to get it working ingame, but I need some help, because they wont appear, also I need to attach them to the light cluster instead of the trunk Making the lights more "separate" when breaking would require a complete overhaul of the rear light cluster because of the way its modeled, so for the moment its not happening, however, the textures of the broken lights will be changed soon, they are still left over from the legran and therefore don't match color, hopefully once this change is implemented it will be more pleasing to the eye Important!!!!: There is a bug with this version, it overwrites your bruckell hubcaps. I have a hunch as to why that is, but I may not be able to release a fix tonight what I think happened is that two hubcaps cant use the same number, all of the "G4000" hubcaps rely on the same number system, 01a, 01b, and 234a. im thinking If I change these to diffrent numbers they wont overwrite the bruckell ones anymore, so ill have to figure out what numbers I can use tell me if im right about this for download, check the OP
I don't know if I've talked about this before, but one key feature that is unique to the Pontiac 6000 STE is an optional All-wheel-drive model It would be quite difficult to implement in-game without help, and the models would probably be really ugly if they came from me, but perhaps I can draw from other awd vehicle scripts to make this a reality. This would be something to finally differentiate this mod from the legran, this system and a selection of Soliad engines is the final goal before realease if I can accomplish it
AWD systems are pretty easy to make, if you want to model the whole undercarriage that's another thing entirely though. Take a look at the older pessima if you want to do AWD/RWD, it's fairly simple once you get the hang of it.
that is what I was thinking, copy the models of the driveshaft and the rear diff/suspension over from the 88' pessima, they are similarly sized cars, id just need to figure out how to do basic jbeaming and scripting to mount it all up and tell the awd system how to function
The jbeam powertrain stuff is the easiest, however placing suspension in the right spot and getting the nodes to match is the harder bit.
Something like that should work fairly well, however jbeaming suspension can be a bit of a pain. I suggest copying the pessima's rear suspension jbeam and modifying to fit part by part. Start with the axle, and align everything as you go.
id just like to say I got permission from OverPower to create a 4000 wagon, no progress on it yet but its possible I could start tonight if I decide to
The 1.4 release is messing with hubcap textures, for all hubcaps, on all cars. Also the gauge cluster shows no texture when the lights are on Beyond that, the mods looks nice, and I look forward to the wagon variant
Yeah, looks like the stock gauge cluster & all hubcaps are missing material... The only fix for the gauges is to replace them with the "Sport Automatic Cluster" (which also changes how they look) & gets rid of the orange background
sorry for the lack of progress, it was finals week last week and im starting a new full time job this week, the wagon is working in-game but I haven't had time to fix any of the issues from the last two posts. I'm hoping to release the wagon with or without fixes to those issues sometime this week
I want to drive this car in the middle of a desert with Young Turks by Rob Stewart playing in the back ground while getting chased by a D-Series
I love that song also, the wagon is now working in game and at least on my side ive fixed the hubcap issue, what still isn't fixed is the badging and the dash glow texture, ive started a full time job this summer and I haven't had time to work on this for a few weeks, but here is version 1.5, more work will hopefully be done soon still to come before full release -new engines/transmissions for the Soliad platform, hopefully a 3.4 v6 and a 3.1 v6 -All wheel drive for STE models -bug fixes -possibly squaring off the model more in some places to make it more distinct looking -coupe? ive been inspired by a really nice 1988 delta 88 coupe FE3 that I saw the other day, I know that a coupe mod already exists though so id probably have to just go through a process similar to what I did with the wagon, there are days that I wish id just decided to make the 4000 a parts mod for the legran, but im to deep in to change that now the car I saw was like this only it was gray over dark gray and had stock rims, it was in very nice shape for being a Michigan car
