The reflection in the car's mirrors is very poor. You cannot even see the end of the car and while driving a truck with a trailer you cannot see anything in the mirrors. I don't consider this a bug, but just a poor work. I know you guys are very interested into making this game as good as possible so I think you should take them into consideration and re-work them.
They do have reflections. Just enable "Dynamic Reflections" in the settings. Be aware, that it will cause a signifigant FPS drop.
I didn't say they don't have reflection, I said that the way the reflection works is very poor and should be re-worked.
IIRC They said that the reflections are unfinished and they are still working on them. Not 100% sure though.
Mirrors just use 'Dynamic Reflections' as source, not Picture-in-Picture. Their resolution and etc. depends on the settings you have in Options > Graphics.
i agree. i have the reflections disabled because without a fresnel effect they look absolutely terrible. however i would still like the mirrors to work when driving in first person.
I am aware of how the mirrors work in the game, but I am sure that the objects shouldn't be chrome and certainly that's not what you see in a 18 wheeler's mirrors + I cannot see the rear end of my vehicle. And yes, everything about the dynamic reflection was on maximum.
That's because, for performance reasons, only the base layer of material is rendered by the reflections. Vehicles are made out of multiple layers of textures, and the base one is usually full chrome. Do 1+1 and that's why you see chrome stuff in your mirrors
Ok, I understand, but I expect you, after getting into BETA state to improve this, or find another way or just optimize the game better.
makes sense, but i hope this is only a placeholder solution. maybe a picture-in-picture implementation (even if its very low resolution) would make more sense for the mirrors. in a driving game being able to properly see the other cars is essential.
when I play all I see in mirrors is the main ground color (brown or green) and the sky (blue...duh) because I have it at lowest settings so it works better on my laptop. an HP with windows 10, made a few years ago (maybe 2013-2015?).
