I really appreciate you saying this. It is pretty tough to get it back up to speed like I want to, and the time that has passed hasn't done too much to help with that. I plan to have more to come soon though! Thanks for the support!

I'll keep that in mind. I will need a few pointers when I get there.

You don't have be sorry about asking.

Yeah, I'll post it later today. I've said it before but progress has been VERY slow. I'm still finalizing the model. So that's some insight into what I will post later.

I know I said I would post today but events during the day prevented me from doing so. I'll be sure to make the post tomorrow as early as I am able.

Sorry about the late posting. I've been working on it for a while now and I didn't expect it to take me so long.

So I missed posting yesterday and I'm sorry about that but my time was taken by other things. However I'm making this post today with the intent that it be a relatively brief over-view of the changes I've made, regarding the model, since the last update I posted. Looking back through the thread I realized how long it has actually been since I've posted an update. The changes will be apparent but they barely reflect the time that has passed.

To start, one of the major areas of the model that caused issues for me was the chassis. Upon importing it into BeamNG I realized that the model needed thickness. Most of the objects could be repaired with a simple solidify modifier, and some tweaks. The same couldn't be said for the chassis. Attempting to repair the chassis object proved to be a large inconvenience and not worth the effort. When I realized that I decided to remodel it.

I was, and still am, working on focusing on and forming out the correct large details for the early stages of modeling. This coupled with the fact that I try to be as precise as possible with inconsistent references (mainly images) caused me to use a much more time than I find ideal to remodel the chassis. I also have trouble with creating geometry for tricky spots but that will probably always be challenging to a degree. I haven't fully completed it yet but I am very close and it should take me a few hours of efficient working to complete. Anyway that’s pretty much the basic idea of the situation with the chassis. I don’t really need to go into more specifics being that what I wrote is already so long.

    Here are some images:

**Backface culling is on for all of these images**

This and the other image of this version of the model are both taken after I spent a lot of time trying to rework the model so that it could have consistent thickness without holes.

This and all of the images below show the model before I began reworking this version.

(Yes, I feel like my experience with the chassis alone deserves its own section.)

I’ve remodeled parts more-so than I’ve modeled new ones but I have made a few additions over time.

Here are other parts to the model:

I'm currently working here. I should be done fairly soon but I still want to remodel and realign some of the parts. The same will go for the front suspension but that will take much more realigning.

I feel like the shape and maybe the proportions of this steering wheel can be better. So I will probably work on it some more.

I plan on remodeling the dash.

I don't have all of the images I took in this posting. If you want to see all of them you can use this link to do so:

The images for the chassis are at the bottom of the linked page.

That was my intention. However, I know the sky isn't the limit in terms of resource usage. To make up for that I'm trying to make the model as accurate as I possibly/reasonably can. The two things resulting in it being so early is the fact that I'm a pretty slow 3D modeler right now and I've been slowly losing steam to work on this.

I understand if someone doesn't believe that I have over 100-200 hours devoted to just this (I'm not really sure of the number but I know I've spent a lot of time with it. To be honest too, a lot of the time was spent debating on what to do next with whatever part of the model I've worked on). I'm continually trying to be more efficient when I do work on it but at this stage I think I'm just going to have to take the time to buckle down and finish it.

I plan on finishing something up relatively soon and I'm going to work out a schedule so I can get this moving, even if it's not as quickly as it could be. I'll post when I get finished with what I have in mind.

I'm not impatient, just hyped, usually mods are rushed and don't crash as good, this one will be different

DUDE!!! This looks amazing! I've read quite a few comments, and I see you're getting alot of criticism. I see that this is going to take a while, but when it's finished, it is gonna be amazing. Don't listen to the haters, I'm a slow worker, too, and I'll bet you have a life and aren't living in your mom's basement playing COD all day. I respect that. *psst, try to keep us updated, I like seeing progress, as most other ppl do* Keep up the good work!

Hey man, take your time and do your best. I drive a BMW E46 325XI. The M3 would be very welcome in my book, but I think it should be done right, go ahead, take your time, and make a work of art. Best of luck!
