Delete the pickup folder in vehicles and re-run the updater. It will detect the missing pickup folder and download it again

    C:\Users\[youruser]\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.Drive
You should have update.exe or update.exe.old (in which case just right click, rename, update.exe)

I fail to see how you can screw an updater up by renaming it, mostly because you cant.

Then you completely ignored what I said, most importantly the section in brackets

"You should have update.exe or update.exe.old (in which case just right click, rename, update.exe)"

Based on how you've used all this helpful advise, I'd say that's a fair conclusion to come to.

To fix the update, right-click on the update.exe.old file, which is in your main 'beamng.drive' directory, and click rename. remove the '.old' from the end. if it asks you to confirm the extension change, click 'ok'. Now it should become an executable file. Then, just run it and if it says that you're up to date hit 'force update' to re-install the pickup.

Run the game and it should be fixed.

That would have been helpful about 10 posts back. Are you sure you are renaming it right.

From the PM I sent you after you sent me one:
If it stays as an old file, then your failing at the basic task of renaming a file. Or you dont have file extensions turned on, which by default they should be on.

    Find your update.exe.old
    Capture.PNG
Right click > Rename. Highlight the section that says .old
    Capture.PNG
Cut it off, press the enter key and it will say this:
    Capture.PNG
Click yes and the final result is this:
    Capture.PNG

Seriously. That was something they taught me with a floppy disk when I was like 10 at school? Probably younger, regardless I had a computer at home at that point and knew how to do it anyway. Its a basic task, its like 1 step beyond pressing the god damn power button to turn the thing on.
