Whomever said that is really selfish. The people who make the mods make his channel grow, he just uses them. Paying would only be fair.

No, you're not understanding my position. I'm not for mods costing money. Let me break 'me' down:

    Opinions on the following:
Mods you have to buy: I don't agree with. Mad agreed on the Russian part.

Beam wants to pay for for mods: If they want to, yes.

A volunteer based donation system: What I'd like the most.

Why should I have to waste my money on virtual items or cars?
If paid mods get implemented: people are going to buy them and reupload for free, Russians would steal and reupload, many people are going to complain, downloads and popularity are most likely going to be low, and etc. If paid mods was a thing, i'd take the Russian route. Guaranteed more downloads on Russian website than the official BeamNG website.

I cannot agree more with asking for donations. The mod will inevitably get uploaded elsewhere.

I think mods would become like DLC if we ask for them to be paid... The question is, How much? Would there be "Mod appraisers" that list values of mods? If so, Wouldn't we have to pay money for mods we all love from people like 99! and Godzilla! That would cause Slavaska to gain popularity...
Also Pishhs mods would be worth 10,000 dollars.

But people won't pay them... People like free things...

Same reason why do you buy games and other content online? Most of us don't see them as a waste. If you see it as a waste, then don't buy them. Simple as that.

It's exactly how i see things. 2 or 3 bucks is nothing, It's the price of 1 or two hotwheels. Nobody cares about spending that amount of money in real life but cry "no, no paid mods pleeeeaaaaase" when it comes to their favorite game. What is the more interactive of those two things, Hotwheels or Mods ?
For me it's the only way to have mods that respect quality inquirement, delay of release, engagement and so on.
I'm personnaly not interested at all by having 200 $ while developping a mod half time for 3 monthes. I prefer doing it for free as then i can release it when i want.
If there is professionnal release date, quality to reach and respect, then it has to be for sale. I'm a freelance illustrator and i have to make a leaving of my work, i make difference between hobby in the free time and professional stuff. Also every situation is different, i'm 45 years old soon and not a student nor trying to make a porfolio for videogames companies so i have to worry about what i do related to money income.

It's obvious that if mods could be for sale when released, there is no way the mediocre mod developper work could be selected, it's not a question here of having all the config pack or five minuts skin for sale.

And this is why discussions about these things are pointless.
