Is BeamNG really worth getting as of now?

I got the tech demo and I have nothing bad to say about it. I absolutely love it. But in the state that it's in now, is it really worth getting if it's 15 dollars? Should I wait for them to add more things? Please help me decide on what to do.

 

Go get it now!!! 15$ is nothing for such a game, I mean call of duty shits out a crap game ever year not changing shit and they demand 60€.
For Beamng you have tons of fun, the game gets constanly updated for free and there are always a few cool mods apart from the official stuff on the beamng drive forums.
You can do nothig wrong by buying it.

It's totally worth it.

Heck, I would pay it 10x over if I had to, even at this stage I would pay the price of a full game for it, it's just that awesome.

And PS, I'm always making mods for it, so there's always new content

Your English is a million times better than my German. Kurz, that is all. Also picked up that gewehr means rifle, but walking down a street shouting rifle at people would probably get me nowhere

 

Yes you should absolutely buy it why wouldn't you? you already like it and you will get access to more maps mods and updates and it's cheap the price will only go up as the content gets even better

 

Yes you should buy this game totally! It's worth every cent, an updates are coming, but just a little slow atm.

 

if you buy the game now for the 15 you get all future updates and content for free. it also unlocks access to the drive section of the forum which is where you get to download high quality, user created mods (including a rocket). you also get a real nifty badge under your name

 

Yes. It's 100% worth it. Not just in the long-run either. It's a great game, and I still haven't been bored of it since I bought it back at launch (sometime in August). Even though the cars are all economy-class, they can be fun to drive (depending on your playstyle). Also has a wonderful community behind it (even though there are some idiots/children that pop up now and then). Would definitely recommend you buy it

you can tell whose advice in this thread you should ignore; they never have anything bad to say, ever.

the game gets boring after a few days. especially once you realize that the modding community is extremely small, uptight, and that the third party content is not that great. the people who have played rigs of rods previously and create their own content will say otherwise, but to the casual player there are just not very many worthwhile mods and it's a pain to even find them and stay updated with the recently released stuff.

all of the default cars are old cheap economy class cars. cool to watch them crash, not very fun to actually drive. it won't get much more exciting than the pickup truck in the demo.

if you will be playing on a keyboard exclusively, it won't even be very fun. driving on the grid map is very different from trying to drive on all of the extremely bumpy roads in the 'full' game.

the game is certainly on its way to being something good, and worth purchasing to support the development, but don't be deluded into thinking the game is perfect in every way. also, the community is terrible. full of children.

 

Serious answer:
if you expect to play multiplayer, and have intense full on rally races then no, but if you want realistic physics and driving then yes.
