In all obvious reasons this game has been developed for PC such as financial, convenience and power reasons. But this technology produced by u guys might be a breakthrough in gaming and i see ur guy's es engine to be implemented in many games in the future. Of course that means a big win for u guys and the development of more complex and real games in the future. Of course there are new consoles over the horizon such as the PS "orbis" and the Xbox code-name "Durango".

I feel these consoles will be powerful enough to use your game mechanics and be further implemented in future consoles. If this happens you guys will score big-time with major game companies and many more.

You might not see it yet but i see a bright future ahead for you guys...........

Well with the future consoles that are rumoured to have 8 core cpu's (4x dual core interestingly) they may have the power to run the engine its self. But i doubt beam ng will be launched on a console just because of the nature of the game. But if any other developers decide to use the beam ng engine itself for their own games then i see no reason why not. But this is just an estimation on what may happen so don't take it for the truth. Also bear in mind they are the specs of the devkits for the ps4 so will likely be similar but could change on release day.

[Ignore all this, read my corrected post 2 posts down] This has already been discussed a lot, next time please make sure that your question hasn't already been asked.

It's not that simple, it's not only a question of 'If the console will be fast enough', but there's the question of how will you download the "Custom Mods", & key-mapping (take RoR for example, you had nearly 48 additional keys [F1-F12, Cntrl+F1 - Cntrl+F12, Alt+F1 - Alt+F12, Cntrl+Alt+F1 - Cntrl+Alt+F12] [which were used for various functions, e.g. controlling the crane's boom {up, down, in, out, left, right} ], I don't see how these will be put into those small keyed console controllers).

Also, the Devs will have to learn (if they don't know already) the console's individual languages.
I also heard that you would have to pay Sony (PS) & Microsoft (XBox) if you want access to their Dev Kits (to create/port the game [BeamNG] to the console). [Ignore all this, read my corrected post 2 posts down]

First of all i am not talking about if they can port the engine themselves, im saying tht their technology can be sold to big name companies like Codemasters or Rockstar so they can implement in their games and not do it themselves because that will be a massive waste of money, and if they do sell their engine then it will be vice-versa and they will pay good money for an engine like this. Second of all have you ever played a racing game on console before, its pretty doable with the limited controls, please read my post more clearly before replying......Also this game is not rigs of rods

Sorry if i spoke in a negative tone, i just needed to clear things up.......

If a developer uses the beam physics engine then as long as they're development environment can export to a format a console can read then yes they can if they are inclined to do so.

Oh, ok, sorry about that
The Devs are actually looking forward to this kind of thing,
Other companies & Devs buying the game's physics & tech to integrate with their own game.
I already read about some people (who've worked with some Big Companies) noticing this game & interested in how it's final physics will be (they said so in the forums somewhere).

I have heard from a contact in Ubisoft that they are attempting something similar to BeamNG.

Yep, it has an 8 Core 'Jaguar' processor (no clocked speed yet), and integrated graphics card (....) and 8GB of RAM, I'd say based on these specs it should handle BeamNG with little to no trouble. Of course, we don't know about the XBox 720, but the Valve Steambox supposedly has an Intel i3 and can run any x86 OS, like Windows, Linux, or MacOS.

the software the ps4 runs on, and whatever you'd have to do to port would be significant factors also. Is it free to put a commercial product on the Playstation? I doubt it.

Here are the "Official" specs released by SONY........

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7000 series custom GPU Between around the 7850 and 7870 clocking in at around 1Ghz
CPU/Processor: Custom AMD Jaguar x86 8 core 64 bit processor supposedly clocking in at 2Ghz if pushed and 8GB of unified GDDR5 RAM
Online: RAM capable of 176GB/sec of bandwidth. 802.11n WiFi,

Yes they not might be as good as a High-end Custom PC but it sure packs a punch and can compete with most stock computers.......This system has alot of potential so stop ruining it PC "enthusiasts" and let the PlayStation 4 Impress

I'm pretty sure that you pasted that in the other thread thats devolved into a debate on the playstation4. http://www.beamng.com/threads/524-*Off-Topic*-PlayStation-4-Showcase/page2

I recommend that you don't resort to outright spamming. Its not particularly desirable.

    (imported from here)

For a cleaner, more readable layout without any user "speculations"

    And just for comparison between a 7850 and 7870;

    7850 makes 1.7TFLOPS while clocked at 860MHz
    7870 makes 2.5TFLOPS while clocked at 1000MHz.

Bit of a jump between the two to say "somewhere in between". Sounds like an overclocked 76xx or 77xx series card.

Heck, it might be a 84xx for all we know, maybe a 86xx. They probally don't know, it probally isn't final.
