Here you go, a second teaser! This time I do some stunts, a backflip and there's a blooper, at the end Made it a lot more controllable and responsive, it's very easy now. No more tilting to the left randomly and crashing. (2 Beams were missing on the right-hand side). +I Added another row of nodes for the wing, so it can deform better! Like/subscribe or whatever, I'd appreciate it
How long did it take to make it fly well? (mostly the balance between nose diving and flipping around backwards)
It took a good few hours just to get everything in the right place so it was stable. (I didn't use any reference diagrams of a real plane or anything). Before Mythbuster told me about dragCoef, the plane only took off at like 700 km/h, because it had hardly any friction. - - - Updated - - - Released! Now you can all go flying for the first time in BeamNG Download: http://www.beamng.com/threads/5300-DSC-Rocket-Plane-Bolide
I only added a wide flat road You can use my Ultimate Test Terrain even, use the drag strip as a runway like I did in the second vid, hold E and G and you'll take off
That's really fun to play around with. I could see maps in the future set up for air races with hoops to fly through and such or city buildings to weave through. I guess from what I've read that props work as well? It would be fun to have something slower flying like an ultralight aircraft and be able to use a joystick controller to fly it. All in all, very well done. P.S. just thought of something; maybe at some time in the future we could have the old double winged airplanes with working machine guns for dog fights and midair crashes hehe.
ive never had any problems, you guys all need to use a diff program or something, ive never had beamng crash when opening the editor while streaming, or recording (i use obs for both)
it glides to an extent, by that i mean the terminal velocity on the rocket plane is 32 mp/h instead of unlimited
since before when you had the drag or friction of the wings set too low it only took off at 700mph, could you theoretically make them really high so it takes off at like 10mph? lol
