help me. I keep trying to use it, have the mod downloaded, and I even compressed it into the original file, but it still won't work. Please help!
1. Download the original "Drag Strip" mod: https://www.beamng.com/resources/drag-strip.2205/ 2. Put it into the mods folder and play the map at least once 3. Download this mod and put it into the mods folder 4. Done!
got it loaded now, but i'm getting tons of error messages. --- Post updated --- apparently, a lot of .dae files
Yeah, I'm getting the same errors, Had the Dragstrip mod for a while, Loaded it many many times, Downloaded this, Threw it on while following the install instructions, And Errors. Lots and lots of errors. Why not just upload a Full packed zip? instead'a this jinky download 2 zips put em together stuff.
Me: This mod looks amazing. However I followed the steps that you provided and the map was still the original. I then copied your files into the original drag strip archive and it come up with lots of errors saying "failed to create resource (is the file missing?)". I'm not too sure whats wrong but I really want to use this mod Author's Response: Make sure that you play the original mod at least once, otherwise BeamNG won't copy the "art" file into the cache. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have loaded the map a few times now and I am still getting the issue. I see that I am not the only one
Because I can't just steal files from other poeple. --- Post updated --- Did you start the original once? Maybe you deleted your cache before playing the Add-On. --- Post updated --- Did you start the original once? Maybe you d Did you really load the original Drag-Strip mod first? (NOT MY MOD) Maybe you cleared the cache before playing my version? --- Post updated --- That's why you need to run the original mod first. BeamNG loads the art file of the original mod into the cache, so my Add-On can then use all of those files. For most people it works fine but it seems like some are having problems.
How i done it: 1. I added the original mod to the mods folder 2. I loaded the map and played for around 5 min. 3. I then quit the game. 4. I added your mod to the mods folder 5. I then load the map up again. Nothing changes. Its still the old map. I did not clear the cached in between playing the two versions. I also see you have said this: "Maybe the cache libraries are at different locations on some computers." My cache is stored here if this is any help C:\Users\Name\Documents\BeamNG.drive\cache.0.9.0.5\levels\dragstrip
For me, it seems to be referencing a folder of files that does not exist in the original map. It is looking for "...shapes/buildings/hr/*.dae" files. When I navigate to that location, the "hr" folder does not exist. I clicked OK on several of the errors (like 30-40) and the map did load successfully, but I could tell somethings were missing, like the main barrier.
the error is looking for the hr folder in that folder path, and i saw the hirochi raceway sign in one of the screenshots so i knew what to look for.
