I think it would be a good idea to use a system that lets you set the time of day to the area you are in like eastern time, central time and so-on. also, real time weather conditions based on your location in the world would also be really cool. FSX uses a system like this and it works great. This would be a great addition to BeamNG. I think it should be optional though meaning that you could turn it on or off and when it is off, you could manually choose time, date, and weather.

I can definately picture this. Imagine sitting on the computer and it starts raining in game...3 seconds later, it starts raining in real life! Your computer is psychic!

Exactly! I really hope they put something like that in game.

There is a time system like this in DayZ. Weather would be cool too, but I'd definitely like to have an option for this, so I can disable it when I play during the night for example.

While this sounds like a great idea at first, sadly anything from the real-word is to slow paced for a game. In reality if it starts raining it will last for at lest half an hour. In the game that's not an option. For example you can't have a 24 hour day/night cycle in a game, nobody would see it, because nobody plays for 24 hours in one go. If everything was the same in the game as in real life, well there would be no point for the game. If you want to watch the rain fall watch it looking out the window, and not looking at the monitor.

This would be optional and more then likely used by a lot of people. I know when I was heavy into FSX I'd always do a real time setting with weather and try to only fly during the day, if I didn't have time during the day I'd fly at night and just "pretend" that it was my shift. I'd for one use both the manual/map day/night cycle or the real time one. There are a lot of people both vocal and non vocal who would agree; It won't hurt anyone if it's there.

the 24 minute method people use is too fast, you can see shadows moving very quickly and 24 hours doesn't suit me too good. 48 minutes would likely work out, maybe even 1 hour 12 minutes.

What about an option to select how long a day/night lasts? If you want real time (24 hours = 24 hours) you can choose that or if you want 48 minutes to be a complete cycle you can choose that. I don't know how the finer details would work as I can't figure out the wording, but I'm sure someone else can.

Agreed, it wouldn't hurt. Now the only problem is finding a global weather reporting site, that has at least an hourly update rate (for the whole world) that would allow its data to be used in a game for free :) Good luck with that.

There was something similar in Flight Simulator, and it never worked right.

I think the ror method is ok. If I feel like it I just make it dark. Now if we had the same for feather that would be great.
