Apparently another file-encrypting ransomware is trashing systems now and it has two names: Petya and NotPetya.

Similar to WannaCry, it encrypts your files and forces you to pay bitcoins to stop it before it erases your files and it was created by NSA leaks. It's more vulnerable that not only it attacks linked devices in a network, but it gets password info from attacked systems to attack more systems outside the network. It was first used to attack the Ukraine's government (which it successfully did), but now hospitals in the United States are getting attacked.

It'll tell you to make the bitcoin payment to a specific Posteo email, which was shut down hours ago. What makes it worse is that (Not)Petya is more stable than WannaCry and has no way of disabling atm.

All Windows computers, including ones with the patch that prevents WannaCry, are vulnerable to this.

And the best chance to stop it is to disable auto-restart and get your install disk/drive ready. (Wonder how I know? Watched Danooct1's video on it.)

You are going to need to stop it at the BSOD or before it starts booting.
If you don't know how your BIOS works, I would recommend at least knowing how to change the boot order so you can use Repair Windows on your install disk/drive.
