Is this going to be a game or a "program" (I'll explain in the post)?

My biggest question is how this game is going to work. The two ways I see it are listed below:

A game: Having various missions or challenges to progress through the game. Completing the missions would give some sort of reward, which would either be a car, a map, or currency used to purchase these various things. A game is something that can be completed. An example is something like the Gran Turismo games. You start with a bit of money to purchase your first car, then dive into the many races the game offers. Winning races earns new cars and money, which can be used to buy more cars or customize existing ones. These cars continue to get better to allow you to compete in more difficult and technical races.

A program: I didn't know what to call this one. "Program" might not be the best word. Basically, a program would be like Rigs of Rods: there's no way to win or lose, just free roam with a full garage. I'm not saying that is a bad thing. Heck, I loved Rigs of Rods. I just wouldn't classify it as a game.

I didn't know which of these you guys intended on creating. A game would be really fun, but a "program" would be just as cool. Either way, I'm excited about this game/program!

    Maybe even both...?

But a Gran Turismo/Forza type career mode (As in, doing races, getting money, buying parts and things) would be fun, but it would take a long time to program.

Well I love the idea of racing in such an awesome engine like this, but sometimes damage can be a little overdone in such a way as if you touch a wall while going 200mph surely your car may just be destroyed, but that brings the case of the user go all nuts and saying stuff like this."WTF DUDE WHAT JUST HAPEND I WAS WORKING ON THIS RACE FOR 30 MINUTES!!!! THIS GAME SUCKS" Type of attitude. And nobody likes that.

What I would like to see is one version with two game modes:
    - A sandbox-ish mode like ROR
    - A mode for SP/MP activities

Upon launch you are prompted which version you would like to launch.
It would be great that way, because if I just felt like testing out a new car or map I could.

If I felt like racing about in a SP mode or with other players I could.
(Btw.. I REALLY want to play it.. Just to crash cars atm lol)

Do you mean like more info or LOTS more info. Like beta tester info. I hate to be the first one to ask but we know we are all thinking this.

Very true. But they said they still have about a year of work ahead of them. They might have testers for the engine, but I think it's too early for testers of the game. Either way, I think we ALL want to be beta testers! ;)

I don`t think (as far as I know) that they are quite ready for beta testing yet. And yes, almost everybody is chomping at the bit to play the game/preogram.
