So I have an old and shitty logitech driving force gt that I've had for years now and I'm thinking I could now get a new steering wheel and I'm balancing between two. Logitech g29 and thrustmaster t300rs. The thing is everywhere I look people say the t300 is the better option with better build quality and such but the logitech has a clutch and I have the ability to get a force shifter with the logitech so I would also have that unlike with the thrustmaster. People and non-people with experience with these wheels or similiar ones I could use some guidance as to which one I should buy.
I'm getting a Thrustmaster TMX soon, and I've heard great things about it. The only things are that there is some manual setup in BeamNG, and the default pedals are underwhelming. But the FFB and wheel design aswell as other pedals/shifter are great.
problem with that is the cheapest g27 I could get would be more than a t300rs with a pedal set to give me a clutch
What makes you think it feels cheap? I agree that the g29 shifter feels a bit cheap. It's feels too light when switching gears. On another note. What's perceived as the best worth thrustmaster wheel? I'm quite unsure myself.
i have the g29, and after some setup it works great. I bought a lot of racing games, but ended up playing mostly BeamNG instead........it just feels so great to drive with a wheel and shifter (esp. the lower powered cars). the G29 is a bit overpriced though. It should be priced at 150 or less. I payed 200, but that seems a bit much considering what you are getting (shifter was extra.....) tough choice
Consider getting a g27. It feels alot better than both the g29 and t300. It works very well with beamng.. And you can buy it used in mint condition for cheaper
If you already own the Driving Force GT then any more advanced Logitech wheel will be a very small upgrade and not worth it IMO. If your wheel works fine then I would suggest investing in a good H-shifter like the Thrustmaster TH8A, good pedal set like T3PA-Pro or Fanatec CSL Load Cell and when the wheel bites the dust, find some nice base (all of the better ones are sold witout pedals and shifters so you won't have to pay twice for anything).
