So my 1tb hard drive is getting a little filled, and I'm saving for a bigger drive. I'm looking for a good drive that doesn't die after 6 months of use. The storage space im looking for is 4-6tb. OS is windows 7
literally anything, but i would recommend Toshiba, the T300 has capacity from 1TB-3TB and X300 3TB-6TB i think, they are nice drives and will last a long while i reckon. and they are cheap and fast
@Michaelflat would you recommend this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16822179129
I dont seee anything thats wrong with it, especially as it is a pro-line one, but i have never owned a Seagate drive before, so i dont know things to look out for (like if they are excessively loud)
I don't see a major difference between the regular and the pro other than a slightly slower rotation speed. Getting the regular will save 75 USD. https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-BarraCuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST4000DM005/dp/B01LNJBA50
I'll let you decide if their data recovery and warranty is worth $75. I am inclined to think outside services would cost less...
If you want massive gains in speed from your storage, get a pair or more of the same SSD and RAID them
He's looking for 4-6 terabytes. A 4tb SSD is around $1500. And you are suggesting several? I don't think that's realistic. Maybe it works for you with small SSDs, but this guy is looking for capacity.
well i went with the non pro model that @nolotank suggested amazon app said there was a newer one but hardly any info was posted about it
