If you've ever played half life or garrys mod, these added to the game would be absolutely amazing. Any opinions on adding those or are they not possible to do in this engine? I'd live to know

Gravity guns and physics guns are pointless because BeamNG is a vehicle simulator. Half Life gives you those weapons on the premise that you use them as creative weapons, they'd have no use with cars, especially if the ability to mousedrag cars is repeated from RoR.

Why? This IS going to be a physics game. Why shouldn't we be able to mess with the physics? +1 support from me.

I just thought this ISN'T a valve game, therefore the devs wont legally be allowed to use phygun and gravgun. I support the drag tool although we dont even know if there is a way to exit the vehicle to use those items. Please don't make this another argument.

    With all due respect.

um, Phygun is from garrysmod, and garrysmod was originally just a mod for hf2, and still requires first purchasing any source games before you can play it. and by the way it was made by... Garry and not valve.

so I doubt it has a trademark on it, but yeah we already going to have drag vehicle with a mouse, it would be pointless to have that
but it would be nice to have something like tools, not only drag... for example beat a car (like punch it where you click), or Slice; you draw a line and it cuts everything on that line.

BEAMNG TEAM MAKE SLICING TOOL K THX BYE

I like the idea. a gun with the strength to punt cars along and to pick up barrels and tyres and things and throw them at the car. I like the idea of gravguns and physguns. This is a pretty good idea.

If they added a Gravgun/Physgun there could be some potential legal issues. But dont ask me cause i aint no lawyer im to PHAT to search up how these things work.

But they are not going to copy half life's source code, and they don't have to name it gravgun/physgun, if they add this to the game they are just going to use a concept not a patented product.

I don't see how a gravgun/physgun style device would be a problem legally. Valve aren't apple, they won't try to sue because you used something basic and fundamental that they used first. The ability to use a tool to move objects precisely, or to pick them up and throw them is all you really need to take from this. a physgun would be great because I can drop objects on targets precisely. If I want to drop a pigeon on a van, a physgun would help! sure you could do it with a ramp but freezing a car in mid air above the van then dropping it has a higher chance of working how you want it to.

Just a little background, the physics gun was the original gravity gun in half life 2 beta. Also I just love how this thread has *kinda* exploded I want this Soooooooooooooooo bad.

The whole concept is rediculouse. This is an intelligent, sophisticated, vehical simulator, not an arcade game, forza-like console game or Garry's Mod. How would any of these things fit in? They would:

    Most importantly such FPS

Waste dev. time on a novelty feature, while the devs could focus on fps improvement, creating new content and other better things.

Be boring. Sure, cool for the first 20 min. I'm sure it would not be used very often except by crash happy people, or those used to arcade games. No offense, your free to like what you like, but it's another one of the many outlandish and utterly out-of-context requests.

    So, all in all,

yes it might be a cool idea for certain things, but think about the bad sides:

    1. Online
This would be horrible for online because you KNOW someone is going to spend their time ruining everyone Else's time (slamming stuff into their cars)

    2. This is a vehicle simulation
This game/simulation was meant to be mainly about driving from my understanding. Not an Fps (as others have said)

    3. Player Model
If the Devs were to put this feature into the game, this would mean that you would probably have a player model for it to make any sense (especially online). Again furthering the conversion from simulation to FPS.

    4. It could break things.
Yes of course it will destroy cars, but seriously. If you had a tool to move things you would slam a car into something much harder than it was meant to, which could make things react inappropriately. (different from what they were programed to)

    5. If a click drag tool is already implemented, this will have no use.

And yes it does have some good sides to it too:

    1. It would definitely be something fun to mess around with
Of course we all want this tool to be introduced for one reason or another, its just the pros and cons that change other peoples minds.

    2. Good for experiments/fun
    3. Its a physics tool for a physics simulator/game
Yes this is a physics simulator and yes we should be able to expirement! This tool would only further our ability to try different things ingame!
    4. Maybe it could have different modes to implement more features?
    5. Again, it would just be fun!

    Edit:
(Sorry for the long post but i wanted to summarize everything up for the devs. You all get credit as Ive tagged ya :D)

Yes I support the idea, but for it to work properly the devs would probably have to put in alot of time into it. I would rather just see the game finished for now!
You all can decide for yourselves!

I don't see why this is necessary to have if the drag-tool is doing a come-back (which I beleive it will do).

And like other said, this is not a FPS.

Are we talking about weapons of mass destruction? No we are not. We are talking about tools that can be used to push your car off of a cliff.

The drag tool is nowhere near as precise as something that would be alot more controlled, like a physgun. You try using RoR's drag tool to balance a car on it's rear to smash it down. but we don't know if we're going to have a character that walks around. so these guns would be a pretty good thing if we do.
