Have you looked at the wiki tutorial? It should have all of that by default in the map editor.

Well, the variables/options you would use to define those are independent. So you tell your map to use the ground model for tarmac and the texture for grass. The last part I am way more fuzzy on since I have never touched it, I would presume you can set custom dust/mud particle textures for each ground model (otherwise maps with different colour schemes would look super weird), if this is the case you all you need to do is change the texture.

Terrain creation documentation is pretty light on the wiki

Hi ! I found this thread but I have the same problem, I want to have a gravel texture which I succeed to create into the terrain material editor, but I cant transform it into a friable physics material one, It's still as rough as asphalt. Found this : https://wiki.beamng.com/Physics_Materials but it don't tell where and what I'm supposed to modify in my level files.

So, the particles depend on the texture you choose. So if you, for example, choose sand, than change the decals to mud, it would show sand particles.

I think how to do this is to add in mud particles, aka choosing the mud in the terrain painter, change it to an asphalt texture, and save. Go ahead and leave and rejoin.
After you restart the level, search up "Groundmodel" in the wiki and mess around with the settings in here.

And yes, this is for the OP question because I don't know what you wanted.

Is it normal that I don't have this type of file in my level folder ?

Okay nevermind, I used the rockydirt official material, reloaded my level and it works, sorry for the unburried topic ^w^'

Oh, I made rockydirt myself but alright. The official materials are somewhere in the wiki.

But yeah, I found it in another thread about Groundmodels and it works.

@TarTi Oof, I was wrong. RockyDirt is a stock texture, totally forgot, I thought of something else.
