actually my little tikes tricycle is faster. it has a stage 6 turbocharger strapped to the pedals to increase horsepower by 0.0001%
And there's some spare parts sold with it. The whole batch (car + parts) for only 500€ ? That seems underpriced to me. Is it the fact that it's RHD that make it cheaper ? Probably. If someone doesn't fear driving on the wrong side, it could be an awesome car to buy and restore.
Yeah, Judging by the side skirts the underside of the car is probably in pretty good shape, but you can't really judge just by seing a picture, rust free 403 under 1k are really rare. For the value idk, There's no point for a French person to buy it. Only people living in a country where they drive on the wrong side of the road could be intrested. It would be a pretty good parts donor, but it would be sad since RHD 403 aren't really a thing. guys my car consume less. Does anyone have an idea of how much a simple exterior paint (With the car already prepared and paint already bought) could cost ?
Speaking of Volvos, my friend recently got a first gen V40 as a first car. It's quite nice although in north america we only got the 1.9T (gasoline) with an automatic. Has lots of power though. Handles well and is apparently quite fun to drive despite the auto. I think it's supposed to take premium fuel though.
@Ulrichou86 RE: Superchargers for the 403. Part of me wants to say "see if you can find one on evilBay/local equivalent", but then I remembered reading on the internet that in France, any deviation from stock is illegal on a street-driven car. You're apparently French, so you'd know better than I would, is this true or not? If not, DO EEEET. If it is, that obviously hasn't always been the case just because those superchargers exist, so, who is the politician who made that law and how did they ever get elected?
...I don't think so. Well I've never heard of it at least. Other than taxes you're pretty free to do what you want on your cars ^^ (Tasty ricers everywhere) You just need to make the modifications on the car papers, and the insurence and stuff will probably cost more. Technically I don't even have to put Seatbelts in it because the car didn't come with some. After chearching a bit those are really REALLY rare and rarelly sold under 1500€. For 1500€ I could have a new hand-made Interior, which is a bit more important, or the exterior painted. Maybe in the futur why not if I get a good deal on one, it would be fraking cool. After it's still a 60 years engine, with probably way too many Kms on it (The counter only have 5 numbers...) I don't know if the engine would be able too handle the few more Hp. Especially since I don't know much about Turbocharger. I don't expect finding help on the 403 Forums since people don't really like "Tunning" on classics (And I can't blame them!) If you don't know the right persons, people take you for dumb asses. The other day I was at a car show where you they sold old car parts. I had found 2 almost new blinkers. A first guy come too me and tell me that "It's a celling light" And the seller did not even bother anwsering me.
Don't know what that other guy was thinking, then. Guess it's best to just ignore anything I see in a comments section. Oh yes, the stuffy nut-and-bolt restorers. I can't be completely against them, because they are preserving old cars that would otherwise get crushed and recycled into half a crummy SUV, but let's just say that's 100% not my style.
I'm generally against any kind of modifications ^^ But parts sold at the time or original parts don't disturb me. I think you mixed with an other guy, and people thought he was French or something like that.
Well, extreme ricers are period correct (as are the majority of modded cars. One funny thought is that in a couple years time the early years of rice and show cars are going to be classic. I am kinda looking forward to seeing that style of car properly celebrated. Not because I would drive one or own one but am interested in the idea of good examples of them being in museums, where they can be appreciated without the chavvy and "bold" culture that often surrounds them being thrust into your face. Cause frankly well maintained and looked after cars from that era are really rare
Ive got nothing against tuning as long as its well made and it usually speaks of the owner i myself cant wait till the waranty of my car is over so i can put in a new exhaust system and a better intake and so on maybe even the golf r parts that it has 310 instead of the current 280
Going to go for a drive after school today, should be fun. Especially this part, not sure if i have driven the blue bit at the bottom yet. I have driven everything else including the yellow and red though.
I can see the benifit of not modifying a car when on a waranty as it would give you a good time to see what needs to be improved. The more I see pics of the upcoming Supra the more I want to drive it.
I recently discovered that one of our local Skoda dealers has a used Tesla Model S in their inventory. Did somebody really trade it in for a Skoda? Back to the future, to the good old ICE. These Tesla fanboys would be triggered if they heard about it, and I would like to see their faces during that.
