    Debatable.

Most japanese manufacturers were still fairly "green" back then. Styling was often attractive but fairly derivative - think of the early Celicas nicknamed "the japanese Mustangs" - and reliability not yet up to the standards we came to know with their cars from the '80s onward.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery;)

As for reliability, take a Datsun 510 and an Alfa Alfasud on a road trip. Let's see which one breaks first;)

Those were wonderful cars indeed. It's sad that those brands went defunct, but a lot of French brand went defunct right after WW2.

Yep, high taxes and high prices of coachwork postwar (and the overspending of money on an unsuccessful racing team in Lago-Talbot's case) meant that French luxury car brands were doomed to fail.

IMO the Koreans built more prettier cars than the Japanese.
At least in the recent years.

This is going to get sooooo much hate just because it's electric and because it's different.
