Would creating the X2010 or X2011 be in the realm of possibility? Or maybe even the Chaparral 2J for they all use Fan technology to suck the car to the ground. I was thinking about it earlier today playing gran turismo and thought it'd be a fun challenge for the people who would actually know what they're doing when creating a vehicle for the game.

Chaparral 2J (which may be quite a bit easier to model)

AFAIK any real car is possible in the engine, but as it is a licensed car, it would have to be made as a mod, and detailed blueprints as well as an orthographic projection view of the body shell (This bit could probably be gleaned form screenshots of the car in Gran Turismo) would be needed. Sadly, as GT has no damage, the mechanical components of the car aren't likely modeled, so blueprints of the car's construction would have to come from elsewhere. Of course you could fudge the mechanical configuration, but what good/fun would that be if it didn't behave like the real car through and through, which is what this engine is all about?

Edit: The suspension may not be possible quite yet, we're missing a vital part of jbeam. IDK if the car would need that.

There are no licenced cars and I don't think they will be coming because it would cost the developers alot of money

Ever heard of third party mods? That's what this game is about.

It doesn't even have to be a car that exists in real life, I would just like to see how the game would handle a fan car in general. It involves some very complex geometry to be able to get it to work right is the thing that might make it nigh on impossible.

Ground effect is not simulated in BeamNG, so that would have to be faked some way. I would probably do it with two or four fans with variable blade angle, controlled by sensors or just beams connected to the suspension (so it doesn't produce downforce when the car is off the ground). A bit like how my hovercraft in RoR worked, only in reverse. It could need some new features to work properly, though.

Hmm, I may have to try building a fan car..
