So I spent a long time toying with this thing, and over wrote the first engine tunning option with an insanely high torque figure, and created a second set of wheels to handle it, which was fun and all. Ran into an issue of the rear wheels doing all the work and the front just getting caught on stuff, is it how you set up the drive train, or am I missing something because I'm just now figuring this all out?
this is so cool, but i wish the front deferential could work so it would be a true 6x6, other than that this is so cool.
Very cool mod, good work dkutch. Love just smashing the front end over shit, that solid axle just sends the forces right up into the frame. Neat to play with. Looking forward to that Datsun!!
That setup looks really complex. If we think about more simpler drivetrain setup: http://media.caranddriver.com/image...-6x6-drive-shafts-photo-520521-s-1280x782.jpg No need to make "double-output-transfercase". The second rear drivesaft goes between rear axles. But that is irrelevant thing in game world. Gonna download that thing as soon as possible. Looks fun!
No I dont mean the suspension setup. This is what I mean: (MS Paint FTW) The real world example is more efficient. And I´ve never seen a transferbox with three drivesaft outputs. But forget about it. It doesn´t have to be so real in game model. Hell, we have flying cars in BeamNg
I actually have two transfercases. If you look closely, the fist one right off the transmission is a normal unit, with high and low ranges. Then, using an adapter there's a second 1-1 t-case to split the rear output. I didn't put a lot of detail on the t-cases, because there's not a whole lot on the transmission to begin with. I also did not use that G wagon 6x6 as inspiration. I meant for my project to be like a Gavril concept vehicle, just like the Dodge Ram T-Rex was for Chrysler in the mid 90's. I looked at how they did the T-Rex concept, and made mine similar.
Hey, this is a Fantastic car to drive and i love it. BUT it has alot of trouble offroad because it has little power wonky gear ratios and no locked diffs! any hope of seeing these things in the future?. it's awesome to see something like this and i love 6x6's.
I locked the diffs with the High and Low range options. Engine is now powerful, no options. Also, happened*, and the Y in "yeah" should be capitalized.
Jesus Christ can you please start putting a tiny bit of effort into your posts, this isn't you texting your mates, this is a public messageboard. Back on topic, great mod as usual Dkutch, this is great fun to hoon around offroad in.
I love it absolutely love the Gravil T-rex. Only thing i have noticed is that when apply 100% brakes the rear 4 tires lock up and slide and the front 2 tires are still rolling. On a real non ABS setup your fronts do most of the braking, so they lock and slide and your rear would most likely be rolling for a bit before they lock and slide.
I would like to say sorry for my post before and rephrase, that 6x6 is bloody awesome, soon as i found out i had to put the transfer case in the front manualy when i load the car up to lock the diffs the thing is unstoppable and fun as hell to drive crawl race and drift haha. such a mad mod and i love it to death. haven't come across a 4x4 or crawler track that gives me trouble. i can do most of the trails and crawls on "A Map to Crawl Over" i think it's called on the community maps. the thing is mental, keep up the great work P.s. sorry for poor spelling and grammar it's not my strong suit.
This is a beautiful looking truck, but I find it's really gutless when it comes to hills and such. It just can't make it's way over anything but the smallest of inclines where the default, original version has no issues. I'm rather curious to see what the previous, selectable mode versions were like in comparison.
