Eh the juke is fine IMO. It's comfortable, roomy, easy to drive, practical, great forward visibility and the renault diesel engines are fantastic too
Actually not all of them will catch fire, the pínto was awfuly projected, with the small rear bumper-to-axle space and they fitted a gas tank in that space! Modern cars have the rear tank up or before the rear axle or same a stronger fuel cell (like the ae86, it has a rear mounted fuel tank, but i coundnt find any info about it cacthing fire) (i know its a tamiya model, but it represents very well the underside of a gtr) Ae86 fuel tank This image should explain why a Pinto (Its funny 'cause pinto is a nick for p***is in brazil...)
Oh, i didnt know that, well, i know some cars that have the same problem as the pinto: All the variants of this car are so low priced in the used market because they catch fire too easy (fiat tipo, tempra etc...)
The old 500s are pretty much the Isetta's grandfather. I mean sure, it's not too slow, it functions like a regular car, and is more popular, I don't find this car to be anything else but a clown's car.
This publicity was because Ford allegedly decided to pay any lawsuits instead of fixing the problem before the car was launched.
the majority of cars with the iron duke 4 cylinder seriously ho is 90hp acceptable in a camaro/firebird or s10/s10 blazer
Actually I disagree. It is pretty fuel efficient latest models average 30 mpg on the street and 36 on the highway. They are also good for tight spaces, say a city. Only if you are using it for cross country trips, then it is terrible.
Well, most of these joke cars are based of their DESIGN. Most of the Yarises look like non-hybrid versions of a 2012 Prius. Anyone's opinions on thinking the old Fiat 500s as a joke?
Thinking of the Fiat 500 and the Isetta as joke cars is kinda stupid in my honest opinion. You gotta look at the context in which those cars where made : just after WW2. The aim was to make cheap cars that weren't necessarly fast, but cheap, and easy to maintain. The Isetta isn't a proper car (to me), since it was made as an alternative to a motorbike. Its aim was to allow people to move from a point A to a point B without ruining themselves too much. The Fiat 500 was pretty much the Italian Beetle. It wasn't as powerful, but it wasn't as austere either. Saying that those cars are jokes is a misconception of what they were meant to be to me.
No, they are not. The reason joke cars are a joke because they don't look ugly it is they are a joke because they have no practicality nor functionality for their major purposes. For example the Reliant Robins were aimed for beginner drivers but because the cars are so terrible, unsafe, impossible to not flip over, and they don't really serve a purpose anymore they are jokes. They only have 3 wheels, and are joke cars because when you see them you think the car is so terrible and chuckle. You are stretching the meaning "Joke Cars" that it has lost its' official meaning. It was supposed to mean the car was so terrible and poorly designed that it was reconized for those attributes. Now you just meant it as strange and ugly. The Juke is also not a joke car. Sure, it is ugly, but it is still an okay SUV. That is why people still buy them. Only the PT Cruiser is a joke not just because it is ugly, but because nobody buys them and they are pretty horrible cars aswell. So yeah, Yarises are not jokes. They aren't great, but they are not a joke. Also during the 50s a lot of Italian families bought Fiat 500s because it was cheap and they could carry their family to places so they are practical to an exstent, but are not joke cars. No one sees a Fiat 500 nor a Toyota Yaris and starts to uncontrollably burst out laughing.
