drivers can do all sorts of funny stuff in hibernate sleep (Fast startup i think its called?) like if you have ever used the Microsoft Basic Video adapter it doesnt allow you to go into sleep mode, i dont know about S4 Hibernate probably is fine as its just a save to sleep but since it is just S3 but power cut (RAM copied to disk before this ofc).
Mines doing it too! Shows the windows shutting down screen and all apps close but it has the flashing power Led! I wonder what will happen tomorrow morning, I also have an electric meter attached to it so I will measure the wattage too...
i dont think the driver updates do slow down the cards, if they do its only marginal and usually another one comes along to fix it, but some have been disasterous, for example.. Rise Of The Tomb raider, before Pascal i was on high settings 1080p HBAO+ with 30-40FPS, now to get that amount i have to go to Medium Low settings and it looks absolutely awful, like im running on my iGPU, at first i thought i was so i fired up HWiNFO and yeah my GPU was at 100%, seems to be a lot worse in that game
I for excample could play Forza horizon 3 at high settings 1080p 60fps 2 driver updates ago i now can only play at medium without forza changing anything so either pc lost power or it was the drivers
Just eat a year or so when this crypto mining stuff stops. Then you might be able to get a card for a reasonable price.
Considering you've twice claimed to have upgraded in last year, I don't really know what to believe anymore
I upgraded one pc wich i sold to a friend and then i upgraded my pc wich i kept and the one i kept was a i5 6600k with a 750ti wich i had before in my old dual core rig and the current 750ti is dying slowly
I backup often, but it's been at least a month since my last one. My PC shut off, and the surge corrupted my drives. Let's hope everything works, because I can't afford jack right now. I have a surge protector, my PSU says it blocks some, and my MoBo blocks some, so it shouldn't kill anything, but IDK. What do I do? I have a lot of work that neess to be done, and school starts soon.
If I remember correctly surge protectors don't really help with a whole lot. If you get a surge then you are basically screwed, unless you have your computer running from a fairly high end battery backup system.
