Racing Championship 1 - Opening

This is our first championship. We will use what we learn in this championship to flesh out the rules for future events.

Anyone may participate. New participants are welcome, though you only be able to participate in events 2 and 3.

This championship will consist of 3 events over 3 weeks:

1. "Hairpins everywhere!" Seed: 45768781394
2. "Tight, then loose, then tight.." Seed: 8972364587
3. "Rectangular Fun" Seed: 36542318960

You may use any official BeamNG car (you must use the same car for all events). It may be configured in any way with official parts and official tuning options.

To participate, do these events by entering the seed into the "seed" area in the proc. gen. tracks and upload a video or replay file of your best run or your time will not count by the posted date for the event. Post your time and a link to the video in this thread. In the video description or your post, include whether you used a keyboard, controller, or steering wheel.

We will be scoring like a normal race, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. for each event, then the times are added together to find the total time.

If I missed anything in this post, please let me know. Good luck! Also, if you have done a championship in the BeamNG Rally Group, you should already know the rules here. This group is heavily based off of that.

Will we be having certain categories of cars? i.e. we group together the classics, the big vehicles, the silly cars (Pessima Stanced, Covet Skidplate, Lead Sled Burnside, etc.), and then grouping them by drivetrain, engine displacement, horsepower range, performance class (for stock cars), race class (rally cars, hillclimb cars, classic race cars, modern race cars, etc.), and other categories?

 

Maybe, if needed. This is the opening championship, so we will get the rules ready for future championships.

2.02.364 using Sunburst Track (official config, no tuning) and Racing Wheel.

Oh, okay...but I also have another suggestion: If this whole ordeal gets big enough, could we potentially make teams?

Anyway...here's my time. 2:22.835 with a keyboard in a modified diesel Pigeon I call "The Drift Bird".

It's called "undefined" in the pigeon.zip file I'm including in this post, and it's got...
-A lightened flywheel
-Semi-race brake pads
-A flame paintjob
-A 3.41 LSD
-Fender flares and a rear track width extension
-Heavy-duty rear leaf springs
-A Nomi racing wheel
...and that's about it, really. I didn't do any weight reduction, as I wanted this truck to be something that could be daily-driven and be taken to an autocross course whenever I wanted to.

 

What Is The Map We Are Racing On?

 

Go to Procedural Tracks, go to Random, put this seed in: 45768781394 , and have fun. It should look something like this.

Sunburst Is Ready!

 

Dang...so many people going with the Sunburst/SBR4...I think I may want to change my race car out. As much as I like the Pigeon, it just isn't going to be competitive with a Sunburst or an SBR4...maybe the Miramar would work.

 

I tried the Miramar with quicker gear ratios and other tuning, but it was much slower. Something AWD and has ABS is best in this particular race.

 

Well...hehehe...you won't believe this.
I set a 1:53.5....

...in this LeGran Custom that I made. It's got entirely stock parts and stock tuning, so I just beat your Sunburst in an old granny mobile....by almost 9 seconds.

For proof, here's the files for both my config (called "racer") and the replay.

I think I'll use this LeGran as my official car for this championship, as it seems to be working very well for me.

I Was Thinking, How About We Use The Gridmap Oval As The Next Track?

 

Maybe as a side championship, but the proc. gen. tracks are the main goal.
