    Update: 31/12/17
Right, some news on this project for you wonderful people. :)

First things first, let me answer where have I been for these last few months. My life has been really rather hectic these last months with; School, Running an online eBay shop, Problems with mental health and also constantly reconfiguring my IT setup for different non-related projects. All of these things have now been dealt with and all are under control leaving me enough free time now to actually work on this project.

I'm quite sure you don't want to hear a long spiel about where I have been but I feel I need to at least explain myself to you all so there you have it.

    Anyways onto the future of this project, Welcome to the AZTEL-PACK (working title), to keep it organized I have put each part into a separate tabbed section;

    Aztel Covetvite:
This I can assure you is not dead, This is going to be the main thing that I'm focusing on however since I haven't been practicing my modeling skills for a good while I'm right back to a beginner stage, However over the coming year I'm going to learn what I need to do in order to make this all happen and as this is worked on I hope I can show you all of the project's development. However, don't worry the original idea I had for this car is still the same it always was for the project!

    Lancer Luxe:
This is a new car I have planned, It is will be a four-door French luxury loosely based off of the new Ibishu Pessima with the same drivetrain and whilst more information will be coming in time the closest real-life counterpart would be the Citroen Xantia but with much more class.

    Cote Del Soleil:
This is a new map which I will be working on and I had actually made quite a bit of progress on before I wiped my SSD and forgot about my BeamNG projects and mods. The map is loosely based off of the Costa di Amalfi course from GT4 just with more routes rather than one linear route around the area.

    Deanshire:
This is probably one of the most difficult maps I have attempted to date and will take the longest to do. I hope for it to be quite frankly as large as Beam will actually support and it will be based on part of a county in the UK with a Motorway, A-Roads, B-Roads and maybe a city.

    Modern UI:
This is quite self-explanatory but if I can get time to do it I hope to make a new set of UI apps inspired by the UI of Forza 4 which I felt still look clean too this day, I will need to learn UI app making but if I can learn the rest of it I feel that this should be no problem!

So there you have it, Does it sound overly ambitious to a silly level? Yes, Do I think I can at least make a good effort on it? Also yes.

To anyone who thinks that I cannot do it I ask them, Why would I stick my reputation on the line if I knew I couldn't do it?

Anyway, In terms of time frame honestly do not expect it to be finished in any part of 2018, This is a massive project and I would expect it to be done early 2019. This is my new year's project I have set myself and if I can get all of this done for January 1st, 2019, This would be a job well done and you know what? After this, I'm probably going to retire from BeamNG since I already have around 500 hours under my belt and I feel that what better way to end on a giant high!

I wanted to thank everyone for the support here and expect some actual work probably starting with one of the maps on the 1st of January 2018.

    Update: 23/09/17
Ok quick update, I'll be ready to start posting some more actual screenshots in the coming days but I have sorted out everything.

What I can now do is I can make whatever part I need e.g. a bonnet in Sketchup to actually quite nice results and then from there I can explode the model to see if there are enough beams across the model. If there is I can export the part as a .dae file and then import it into Blender where I have the basis for the Covetvite stored and from there I can either add this part or replace the Covet one with the new one and then from there I can move and scale the new part into place.

It's not going to be the most efficient method I would suppose but it is the best I have for my skill set and I think that it ought to work out in the end.

I was thinking of live-streaming the modeling phase of the build if I'm doing more than 10 - minutes of building. Would anyone actually want to see that?

Oh and a Convertable version of the Covetvite is Confirmed the poll overwhelmingly wanted it so that's going to be happening, I think the best thing would to make the roof of the car a removable hardtop.

    More information coming soon...

    Update: 22/09/17
I have been hard at work behind the scenes getting ready to make this project work around my life and there have been some updates...

Firstly here are some photos for people who want to see what the car roughly will look like when the outline is laid upon the stock Covet:
    AztelCovetviteSide.jpg AztelCovetviteFront.jpg AztelCovetviteBack.jpg

Secondly, I have decided to start again with the progress I have made. I initially tried to make this car by the book and in Blender like 99% of other mod creators but after faffing around with it for numerous hours and not being able to make anything remotely decent in the program I have decided to ditch Blender and go back to my O.G tool, Google Sketchup. Now I know that many people in this community seem to associate Sketchup with bad quality but I can assure you that there have been good mods made using the tool and it is a tool that I know fairly well-meaning some of these new tools I have to use will lead to a much lower learning curve. My progress as of yet was not massive to be honest but now I'm taking a fresh start to this to make sure I get it right and not find myself overwhelmed halfway through like so many other creators.

    Initial Post: 20/09/17

    Aztel Covetvite:

Today I introduce my first vehicle, The Aztel Covetvite.
    AztelCovetvite.jpg
The Covetvite is a fun little sports car based upon the Ibishu Covet. The key to this car is the body has been totally reworked to give it a unique stylish design and a tuned suspension to allow this little gem to grip through the corners like a gem it is yet the Covetvite actually shares the same engines and chassis as the Covet it is based off.

The reason why I did this is that I feel that the Covet could really work well with a fun sports version of it and by reusing the engine and chassis the hardest parts of the work is already sorted meaning I can work on the body of the vehicle and making it fulfill the potential it deserves!

Now I will update this post as time goes on but you can come along with me since I have mastered making my own maps now I want to move onto making a decent and worthwhile vehicle. You ought to be able to see some updates very soon and if you want you can request for things such as a convertible version if there is enough demand for it.

So in summary, The Aztel Covetvite... A re-bodied Covet with some tuning made by a guy who is learning as he goes.

I know it may seem brash, but I'm actually working on it as we speak, I just wanted to see peoples reaction before releasing something that no-one actually wanted. There will be actual progress in the next couple of days I can assure you

Not going to lie, it was heavily influenced by the autozam just with less 80's - 90's design. It's a mix of the Autozam AZ-1, Honda CRX and Daihatsu Copen all in one design that could actually work in todays world

I don't think there should be a Convertible as such, I personally think from seeing the only concept drawing, It would look even better with a Targa top or even the T-Top "convertible". It's your design, You do you. Just keep this in consideration if you decide to do the following.

wrong section of the forum. And also as by stated by the devs DO NOT make a thread for making a car with no progress. A image is not progress you need to have most of the modeling done or something. This is not a start.

Trust me, there is work going on behind the scenes, today alone I have started chopping the chassis and working on the configurations for the vehicle

For people who want some proof of how this is going to look and work, I have taken all of the body panels off of a covet and I have overlaid the design so you can see the rough way its going to look and dimensions for the vehicle!

Thanks for backing me up here and I haven't finalised them just testing roughly what works and what doesn't, e.g. Stage II turbo is too overkill for the car but the Stage I is great fun!

This should be some kind of Ibishu sports car, since it's a rebodied covet. It looks a lot like the Honda Del Sol so maybe it could be called the "Ibishu Sun" or something of the sort.

If you look at his red outline picture it nowhere near looks like a del sol, this however does:

True, although I still think it would make a good car as an Ibishu.

I was thinking of making it into a Ibishu, however I have three or so more cars planned for after this one that work off of the same redesign but same underneath philosophy, so I have made a company to make these cars.

Just look at the crazy tuners of the 80s and what they were doing with stock cars and liken this affair to that

    Reminds me of two things:
One: The Dunhen Sunstrip from SLRR
Two: A Bloated Del Sol mixed with a Autozam.
Remember to give it a targa roof!

A targa roof is a definite maybe, it's either going to be that or a hardtop version with a "softtop" version (I use air quotes because Beam only lets you have a convertible roof in one position unless you are going to do something really complicated)
