Yeah, pretty decent build, specially for that price :) Maybe throw in a SSD later down the road and you're done

The build is good but i have to warn you about a major problem with windows 8, some drivers are very unstable on the system thanks to Microsoft fucking up (for an example so is there a big problem with Microsoft's audio drivers, they are terrible beyond acceptable). I have had HUGE problems setting up my audio to work properly, i can honestly say that i have lost count on how many restarts i have had on my computer to get it working.
Some of the problems i have been facing is: Missing sound in left speaker (both surround and headset), drivers crashing (for USB headset) resulting in no sound and/or microphone (still can't solve microphone problems).

This is something you will have to struggle with most likely since even tech support can't help you out when it fails to work (i got a turtle beach headsets which i can't use properly because the Microsoft drivers are crashing and when there is sound in the microphone it is so choppy you can't hear shit). This problem is unbearable on USB headsets (as drivers instantly crash when you use the mic) and are ok if you only got minijack outputs in use.

This can differ from computer to computer but i can confirm that this is a common problem among home built computers with windows 8, if i where you i would have gone for windows 7 64-bit PRO version (much more stable audio drivers and less problems in general).

Oh and for those that says windows 8 is the same as windows 7 with the only difference is the GUI, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

-Owner off Windows 8.1 64-bit version

i run on windows 8.1, and have 0 problems whatsoever, never even had a bsod, sound and speakers work flawlessly, so your just doing something wrong, also, your kidding me right? your using default driver's? never, ever, use default driver's, use the ones made by the company that made your sound card, or motherboard or whatever, whats most likeley hapenning here, is because your using default driver's, your headset or whatever isnt 100% compatible with it, so when using certain features, it crashes you, if you would, oh, i dont know, actually RESARCH this kind of thing, you'd know, that you need to use the official driver's by the manufacturer of your motherboard or sound card or whatever

I DARE YOU to find a driver to any of the Turtle Beach Headsets. And just as you know it, after i uninstalled and remove Realtek hd audio manager my optical is working properly like a 5.1 surround (and not like a stereo setup).
And there is plenty with the same problems which haven't been able to fix it so i would safely call this a issue with Windows 8. The headset also works perfectly on my windows 7 Laptop.

no, windows 8 beats windows 7 in so many way's, as for the person with audio, then its a realtek problem, NOT, windows 8, because if removing the realtek driver fixed it, then its realtek that made the mistake, NOT, windows 8, @OP ignore EVERYONE who says not to get windows 8, they have no idea what there talking about

I have had this operating system now about half a year and all i can say is that the GUI want me to puke each time i'm going trough it and all of this useless crap they have included into the operation system, this is made for touchscreens not ''normal'' computers. It is one of the biggest flops microsoft have done and they don't care to change it (as they promised in windows 8.1). Fine it boots up like 10% faster than windows 7, but you will have to deal with this shit GUI the rest of your windows 8 life.
So please do yourself a favor and get windows 7, i would have gone back to windows 7 if it wasn't because i have already been dumb enough to give this shit a chance (not gonna go trough the trouble of re installing my games/software).
I used to stay positive to the OS but i just can't, you might enjoy it but lots of other sure as hell don't.

the gui is not shit, and you dont have to use the metro ui you know, there's this thing, called THE DESKTOP :O, ive been using windows 8 scince the first dev preview, i know all the ins and outs of how to use it, and so on, so please, get out, and actually learn how to use the os, and no, i wont do myself a favor, because, unlike you, i actually LIKE windows 8, so downgrading to 7, would be doing myself the oposite of a favor

if your only problem is the metro ui, in windows 8.1, you can have it boot to desktop, and for start menu, you can download classicshell:

Nice Build. You could add a SSD for Windows and some Programs. I can recommend the Samsung 840 Basic 128GB / 256GB (or Evo if you dont care about the money)

btw: an Intel Xeon is like a i7 just without the possibility to overclock. And Yes, it is usually used in Servers.

I am with you in thinking that Windows 7 is far in the way the SUPERIOR operating system here...it just works and its less of a hassle than Windows 8 is...which is just built for a phone NOT a computer...

    lets leave it like this

Windows 7 = Windows 8 can we close on that please?

I would personally cut the RAM and HDD size down and try and get a 660 ti or 760.
