Beamng Drive runs terribly on my computer...

Hi guys!
My computer has recently been upgraded with a £150 graphics card. Problem is, before I upgraded; the FPS were around 40-50 with an Nvidia GeForce GT640 2GB.
I then upgraded my GPU to a Windforce AMD Radeon R9 270X.
After installing windows 8.1 & beamng drive etc, I fiddled with what I could regarding the graphics settings...
and it plays at about 15-19 fps, which I think is utter bull****. I'll put in my computer info and also the graphics settings to see if you guys can help out.

PC:
AMD Athlon X4 750K 2.5 - 3.4ghz
8GB DDR3 1600mhz
Windows 8.1 x64
MSI FM2-A75MAP33 mobo
Resolution: 1600X1200 on a 22" VGA monitor widescreen
AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB Windforce

 

Did you even downloaded the graphics card drivers?

 

Have you made sure that you have the latest drivers for your GPU? Your CPU and GPU are both quite good so you shouldn't be getting those framerates.

 

Download those drivers and they will increase the performance...

The 270x can run the game maxed out at near 60fps. Source: I own one.
The GT 640 can not run the game at high at 40 fps. Source: My 7770 runs it at 40 The 7770 is double the power of the 640.

Conclusion, troll thread. AMD vs. nVidia.

If not, have you tested the temperature of the PC or the drivers? The ones on the disk are old, try these. http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

 

Yeah they're the lastest ones available.

Actually, I was wrong. They weren't the latest... Thanks to whoever linked to the most recent driver; the problem is fixed. It now runs beautifully. Great help!
