Posting just to post. December was one hell of a month. In addition my dad's pickup, which I am driving right now, sprung a small fuel leak and I haven't been able to work on my car till Christmas.
On the bright side... I found the fuel leak. It's a sensor that tells you when the fuel filter is plugged. I can just put an 1/8" plug in it and forget it.
Had some time to work on the car and now all I have is hoses to replace/hook up, wires to plug in, a throttle body to bolt on, and two valve covers to screw on. So much closer to having my car back. :)

Not that I don't like driving my dad's powerstroke, but 14 mpg with fuel at $4 is much more expensive than 23 mpg with fuel at $3. That'll save me $100 a month depending on my right foot.

I thought I'd bring this up, because my friends and I were talking about it. Back in 2012 I was working for my dad's commercial pipefitting company as a material handler. They taught me all of the materials and their "street" names, and gave me a beat up old 1996 Chevy K1500 pickup to drive. 4.3L V6, standard cab long bed, 5 speed, 4x4 with over 300k kms on it. I used it to haul lengths of pipe and heating units, etc. I beat unspeakable amounts of shit out of that truck. 6000RPM clutch drops in first to get out of the mud, got about 3 feet of air daily in it, hauled about 3500lbs in the bed across the huge jobsite over the nastiest side-roads you could imagine. I was yanking Super Duty's and Duramax's out of the mud every time it rained. Anyways, even though it was a monumental piece of crap in almost every way, I fell in love with the thing. It just wouldn't die.

One of our subcontractors bought a brand new 2012 GMC 2500 6.2 to do the exact same thing I did, material handling. By the end of the jobsite, I drove the Chevy back to HQ (not without almost shatting myself at the way it wobbled past 60mph) and their GMC went back in pieces.

They don't make them like they used to.

Anyway, i just thought I'd share that story. Driving the D15 around brings back memories of long days in that old piece of shit truck.

My father used to love to take my family and I camping, and the van he used was a Ford E 350 V8 Triton.
We loved the van; huge bench seats, tons of room, great for hauling my dads custom 33 foot camper. My dads terrible turning skills caused a few dings and dents, plus a broken gas station sign.
We used that van for everything; hauling rocks for my moms garden, towing numerous amounts of trailers, hauling thousands of cans from our can drive, taking his boat out to the lake.
My dad, my brothers, and I were all in Boyscouts, and having the van made it easier to go on scouting events.
Back in 2009, we took a trip to the grand canyon to hike 13 miles to a camp stationed inside, this however, was the last scouting event my dad and his van would ever see.
Earlier in that same year, my dad had developed an advanced stage of pancreatic cancer, one of the worst possible cancers to get.
He died on October 29th, 2009, and we sold his van the next summer, we just couldn't afford it.

I posted this because my dad loved that van, because it helped him stay close to us, and that means the world to me.

I love you dad, and I miss all the fun we had together.

shut up man he clearly just forgot to list it.

    What do I drive?
2014 corvette, not stock though, not fast enough to take full advantage of my driving skill.

The exhaust comes straight out the fenders like a damn drag car, it's turbo'd to 45 psi of boost, and the cops can't catch it. I've raced pf, and I beat him after 150mph because this bastard cannot hook up. My car makes 1200hp so it's no surprise. I made the money by selling bitcoins that I mined 5 years ago because I am a super wicked hyper mad genius who just knows where these things are going. I have millions of litecoins and bitcoins still stocked up.

    no pics tho soz lols

That's very touching, and I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I could only wish I had a father that was as great as yours sounds.
And that van is def a tough cookie, I used to drive a 1997 with over 450K mi on the clock for work, and drove it daily in, around, and out of Manhattan, no amount of potholes or bikes or pedestrians could keep that baby from burning through red lights lol

    Bugatti haha shits hilarious

My civic has a small 65 trim turbo, boosting 79psi on stock internals (!!!) and I converted it to AWD so I spank Gallardos and Aventadors all day, cuz you know, I'm a boss ass bitch, and I live in an area where all you see every day is Lambos, Maybachs, McLarens, Porsches, yawn.

The thing about doing silly things is they stick, and smart arses won't let it slide even if its for science. Look, its easy to see what happens when you lie about this sorta shit. I could tell you I have a ferrari and no one will care, and think I'm a complete knob when they find out I'm lying or I could have a sense of humor about the fact I own a fiat panda after crashing a Suzuki swift into the scrap yard I was selling it to. By the way, that is a much more interesting story then ownership of a Bugatti Veyron could ever be.

Now the trick is to think ahead and not do it in the first place, that way you wont have silly things people will stick to you. Understand? Learned a lesson here? good. It won't stop the bugatti comments around you but now you know not to lie about those jaguars and Mercedes your parents own, then in hindsight tell us it was for science.

We're not stupid, you told a lie and a lot of us are skeptical anyway. If you're not a reliable source of facts, you're going to be the butt of a joke whenever you attempt to impress someone.

Yeap. So far, she's been dropped twice (once at the Seattle Public Library and other at home - maintenance) and backed into (at Seattle - USPS lady couldn't see my bike and ran into the front fender.
Apart from that, she's a damn good steed.
